Hello, all.

Starting my 2nd foray into the Necrotyr world and wanted some opinions.

I think the Necron Monolith is an ugly ziggurat that hopefully gets an update.

Until then, I've been piecing together different parts and wanted some opinions on this type of platform/count as:

I know Russ did something like that with his 2007 army, and I liked it alot.

Better to have the guns below, or have necrons "manning" them?

Those are some sweet destroyers. I also love the platforms, however they might have LoS issues since they look to be considerably shorter than actual monos.

I can honestly say that I doubt the Monolith will ever get a new model. Not in the next 5-10 years at least, if 40k is even still around in 10 years.

The Polito form is dead, insect. Are you afraid? What is it you fear? The end of your trivial existence?

Like the Gun Platforms. And really like the wings look you have going with the destoryers. Keep it up.

If you maybe make it floating on some hefty metal rod so that it's floating, you'd be less likely to run into LOS issues.

But I don't understand why so many people hate the Monoliths. I think it's a very unique vehicle that absolutely fits the Necron aesthetic.

Also, ph34r is right in that it is extremely unlikely there will ever be a new Monolith model.

Edit: Also, guys, I'm pretty sure the OP did not make the models in the second picture. He just used the pics to show you what he's looking to make.

@ Darth Bob: Ah. Thanks for the clarification.

Back on Topic: I can see the Warriors merged into the turrets. I always thought of the Necrons running on the same principle as the Tyranids, albeit with a techno spin rather than a biological one.

Oh yeah - - I didn't make the second set.

I just saw the pics in the Gallery and really liked how Russ did his Monoliths.

I am going to measure the actual height of the Monolith built correctly so I can cut my dowel rod to the right height.

If you can vision the platform sitting at the correct height, but the "pyramid" would be gone.

Debating it, as I would somewhat lose the LOS blocking pyramid. Just never have liked the look of the Monolith.
