I know I asked before, but is there anyone who plays 40K in the Manchester, NH area? I've played down in Londonderry before and had a great time, but due to family and time constraints it's difficult to get down there consistently. I know Double Midnight Comics has expanded their gaming area and have heard about a game this Friday but don't remember many of the details. Is there anyone interested in starting some pick-up games there or even getting a group together? Please let me know, I've got a bunch of Orks and Marines painted and ready to go.

Whats up. I am Randy from Brookline NH. I have just got back into 40k, and need to build an army up. I have some of my old armies in my basement, but just the units I did not sell and they are in complete disarray. I really want to start a new army, and that army will not be ready to be played till the end of this month or may. I hope you would like to play a 1500-2000pt battle in a month though (maybe a tad longer I have a good amount of work keeping me busy). I am collecting a Space Marine army right now, I have some old 2nd ed eldar but their condition is horrid, which due to the pain of seeing them has made me stop looking for my Necrons. But if I find my Necrons (hopefully in good condition due to being all metal) I might get them going again. Well hope I hear from you and we can get a game together, when I get a respectful army again. My eldar never deserved their fate of broken plastic and mangled tanks, but they are a dying species.

I'd definitely like to get together at some point. 1500 - 2000 points isn't a problem for either army, either. Not all of my figures for either army are painted, but they are all assembled and at least primed (personal rule where I won't play with anything less than a primed figure). Keep me posted when you'd like to get together and we'll try and work something out. If you know anyone else who'd be interested in playing let them know as well. Maybe a group can be started at some point as well.

I live right down the street from Double Midnight, and could potentially come in. That's cool to hear that they're expanding the gaming area; if they have even half-decent terrain, it could be convenient for a quick close game. I usually go to The Game Castle on Tuesdays and occasional Saturdays, and drop into the mixed-gaming night at Myriad some Tuesdays as well.

That's awesome. I know that DMC doesn't have anything in the way of terrain simply because they're trying to get the 40K and Fantasy off the ground and they don't have much storage space (last part from them directly). I know that Magic is big for them on Friday nights, along with most other CCGs on the weekends, so getting together then may not be an option but I'm sure something could be worked out. Going back to terrain, although they don't have anything there (I believe) I know I've been collecting terrain for a couple of years or so, so I can pack some up and bring it along.

Cool. I have a Realm of Battle gameboard I won at a tournament a few years back and keep meaning to get around to painting. This is another good reason for me to get around to doing that. I just started putting together some hills recently and gave them a basecoat as well, but they're in a friend's garage for the moment, awaiting texturing and drybrushing.
You said you have some time constraints. What times/days are good for you?

Most days are good for me as long as I let my wife know in advance. Reason being is that we have a two year old and a one year old, so not only spending time with them is important but the more we can stick to a schedule the better. For the most part, evenings work best. Probably two of the biggest time constraints that I have is that I can't dedicate an entire day (like a whole Saturday) to gaming and I can commit to gaming two to three times a month, but probably not more than that. How about yourself?

No kids here, and a tolerant wife. I play regularly every Tuesday evening, plus have a D&D night every Thursday evening, and an all-day game every other Sunday.
My wife works second shift, so I can often game other weeknights, as long as I wrap up by around 9 or 10. Weekends are usually trickier. I get out to the occasional Saturday tournament, but random gaming usually doesn't happen for me on weekends.

DMC is open most nights till seven or eight. Friday is the exception, they're open till midnight with Magic going on. Do you want to maybe shoot for either this Friday and see if we can carve some space, or possibly one of the week nights next week and a smaller game so we can finish? I also don't know how flexible they are on hours if they have guys playing and they go past closing time. Realistically, I'm sure they're not going to stay till midnight to finish a game but if it's another 30-45 minutes that may be ok. If you want to shoot for Friday, I can send them an email asking if we can get some space. Let me know your thoughts and we'll try to put something together.

I'd be happy to give Friday a shot; say, around 5 or 6? What's good for you?
We could just do 1000pts or 1500. to keep it quick. Take your pick.
Do you have enough terrain for a 4x6 (ie: roughly enough to completely cover a 2x3 area)?

Friday sounds great. Let's shoot for closer to 6; I work down in Nashua most days and I get off at 5. I'll send DMC an email asking for some space and hopefully they'll be able to comply. Terrain won't be an issue either, I've got more than enough to cover 2x3. It'll be mostly wooded and rough sections because that's the easiest for me to transport. And let's shoot for 1000 points. I've got a mixed-list that I've been wanting to try. I'll keep you posted on the response from DMC.

Orks it is then. I just got confirmation from DMC on Friday. I'll try and reserve two sets of tables. This way if anyone else shows up they can get a game in as well.

No worries, I've got a game mat so we're covered there. I'd like to see the game board, though. I've thought about investing in one but am very reluctant. Is it worth it? My chief gripe is the hills. If it were six flat pieces I'd probably be more inclined to purchase one.

I would not spend the money on one unless I were rolling in cash AND had no space to fit a foam board in my home.
It's attractive, very durable (you could stand on it with no fear of breaking it), and breaks down into six pieces with a carrying case for much easier transportation than a foam table. But the in-built hills are a bit awkward, it makes an odd clacking/hollow noise when you roll dice on it, and models slide on the smooth plastic. I'm going to put texture paint on mine as well to eliminate the clacking and sliding issues. I think the issue with the hills can be dealt with if you assemble it so as to make them less of an issue. I'm thinking mine will have two hills in the corners at one end, and one hill in the middle/edge of the table at the other end.
