hi all,

i'm sorry to beat a drum which has become a little deafening by now but i have a query regarding battle damage - more specifically batlle damage on space marines, and even more specifically still, does the 'chip' colour depend on what armour colour you are painting? i have seen many tutorials for different types of battle damage on marines, but they all seem to vary in which colours are used (Charadon Granite seems fairly popular) but i was basically hoping someone might be able to tell me if the colour used should vary across SM chapters.

i'm looking to start painting up Blood Angels and after checking through any tutorials i can find (both on the GW website and various blogs) i am at somewhat of a loss as to which colour to use - the GW tutorials for the stormraven say blazing orange with chaos black/godex grey mix (followed by boltgun metal) whereas as mentioned, many the "homemade" tutorials (for want of a better word) seem to advise chardon granite with just an degde higlight underneath - also another WD battle damage tutorial on Lukas the trickster had the undercoat mix being re-used! As a result i'm a little confused with what to do and was hoping someone might be able to offer me any advice on what colours to use for BA battle damage, the highlighting approach and any other tips going!?

many thanks in advance.

Mike.
