So, soon its time for me to start building the specialist troops in my BA army, the Honor Guard and Vanguard Veterans.
BUT I dont like metal models really so I decided to kitbash, and this is where you come in!
What are your suggestions for making some cool HG/VV models? My initial thought was of course to use parts from SG and DC boxes on normal assault marines but maybe you know something way better? Maybe you even have pictures of this?

And also I want them to look somewhat distinct from eachother besides their colors so any suggestions on a "theme" maybe? For example all HG use legs from Tac squad and VV use DC bodies etc.

You are not going to do much better than the DC and SG boxes. Perhaps using the Dark Angels Veteran torso/legs with the robes for the Honour Guard... that would certainly set them apart. Then use the great DC legs and SG torso for the VV.

Hmm that does sound interesting, I'll look for some pictures of the sprues so I see exactly what I get from it! Thanks!
Any other ideas?

I am using a kitbash of DC and SG legs with Forgeworld MKIV armor and Chapterhouse Studio's preheresy jump packs. I'm magnetizing packs and arms to keep things interchangeable. I'll post again after I take some pictures

I think I'll also check out the new PAGK kit, just swap out the shoulderpads to some SG/DC pads.
