Well, after much debating and considering the new scenarios for the upcoming tournament, I finally finalized a 3,000 point list that I feel will be competitive as well as be able to do well despit the firt scenario which hurts armies like the empire more then most armies out there. So without further ado, here is my list so tell me what you think:

Fairly similar to my 2,800 point list that won the tournament at my store, only changes are dropping Gelt in favor of a lvl. 4 w/lore of fire, as well as giving me enough points to run a cheap lvl. 2 w/life, and adding 10x Greatswords to make them a horde unit.

hopefully your greatswords do better than mine do for me

why no detachments for the greatswords or your halberdier horde? would seem to be the better place to put the detachments than on the two smaller swordsmen blocks

Reson for no detchments for my horde units is because for starters I couldn't fit them in point wise, and my 2x 30x man sword units or there 15x man halberd detachments many times have supported them. just depends on what my opponent has and what he is tryng to do, also they really have yet to need any detachment support.

A good list, hate to be on the recieveing end of that. I myself am a ranged and mounted Empire player, with the almighty 40 MAN GUNLINE OF DOOOOOM (pew pew).

Any reason for not using gelt instead of that regular wizard lord? He's really good for the points.

Also, I'd personally go for a pair of steam tanks for a competitive list at this point level.

The lore of metal is sort of a double edged sword, if you play against an army that has little to no armour you can kiss your direct damage goodbye. Taking Gelt is a good idea, he has more power, 6+ to casting and has the entire lore to use that on, that and he can throw acid at people. And if you fighting a low armour and low leadership army like Skaven, just use the Final Transmutation and turn one of his units to gold and watch as his battle line fallls into disarray.
