Felt like being a little braggy today and show off my models to get some opinions.

Please feel free to blast my if you think my work is crap, or praise me if you think it's good. I know I'll never win any gold demons, but I think my stuff looks good on the table.

That's really great! I don't really like such clean weapons on Da Boyz, but they're still really nicely painted. The skin is cool too. Keep up the good work
Forgot to comment on the Dreadnought, I think he looks cool, the highlighting on the hull is interesting. Just remember to drill out the gun barrel. Overall, he's great too

Thanks, I haven't decided if I wanna dirty up my Boyz yet. If I do it'd be the final step anyway. Paint it clean THEN make them dirty

3 things:
your work i amazing
you should dirty up da boys,
and wash all your models to blend the highlights as they are very er... out there
but that's nice in its own way.

The Warboss' skin looks pretty good, but I'd suggest some more highlighting on the face. The face is the focal point of a model, and on this guy it's a little too undefined.

Please don't do the last one, a wash although may help your models gain more depth it will not blend your highlights. That is a sound enough and logical advice but your highlights are very severe and a wash may actually highlight your highlights by making the recesses darker therefore bringing out this edges further than you already have. On the table I bet highlights like that work quite well and serve their purpose but personally I would make them 2 shades lighter and you will have a far more realistic look.

as for the boyz and dirtying them up, if you don't want to don't. Not everyone does dirty orks and like them with the clean slightly cartoony looks to them

If your going to do something wrong, do it right!!!!

I like it! I bet this looks great on the tabletop!

That's definitely not an insult. Some paintjobs look really beautiful up close, but put them down on the table and the detail disappears.

My only suggestion: Brightly colored "teef" on that banner pole. Give that Waaagh glyph some white teef, or shiny metal teef, or yellow teef! It's a banner pole. Everybody's supposed to be looking at it (until he clobbers the lads with it).

Not bad, not bad man. I would perhaps look into cleaning up some of the highlights, perhaps go into a two or three phase highlight, working your way from darkest highlight to lightest, you can really make edges pop like that. But overall man, your stuff looks good! Keep it up and fine tune it some more and you will be making some killer models.

PS: That DW looks clean with the wash!

Good stuff dude, coming along nicely. My recommendation to throw in would be to add some mithril silver flicks to the warboss's claw and to the edges of other metal work. This makes it look scratched and worn

I agree with a few others on here, you've got good work so far! personally I would like to see some weathering on the Orks, especially the weapons but you don't need to go overboard on them, but i'm quite impressed with your deathwing terminator, his helmet especially good and the shading is a perfect depth of colour to bring out the bone on the armour plates, good stuff!

I'm digging that dreadnought. It makes me want to use that cool glowing effect on some of my marine's power fists. Overall, great stuff!

Ok another batch of new pics.

First up we have a Brit Knight from my current commission.

Next we have some updated pics of the Nobz that I showcased earlier. I got some higher quality shots since I was taking pictures anyway.

Finally I have my Warboss again, updated with some of the suggestions given in this thread! Thanks for the assist to those who offered said helpful suggestions I updated the banner pole a bit with colored teef! and I brightened up the highlights around his face to make him "pop" a little more. As for all the "weathering" suggestions I've been getting. I honestly like my models looking clean and comic bookish. Weathering just doesn't sit well with me, even if it does detract from the "Orkyness"

Hi!

Wow! A real improvement with you Warboss, the skin is especially nice! There are to minor things I still don't like about it though (sorry)

- The bases. It's not just these bases, I just don't like the 'all-green' style, just a matter of opinion I guess
- the bright blue cable to its power kalw. It really takes away the models focal point, which should be the face (which is indeed very nicely painted). If I were you I would paint it black with a grey drybrush or something
