Welp Ive been sitting on 3 broken deffkoptas from the AOBR set since the set first came out (I got them for next to nothing for being broke) So now that the weather is nice, I got the spring fever and started to work on more Ork stuff. So I pulled the busted up koptas out and started working on them. The only thing left to finish is filling in the gaps that you can clearly see in the pics. But I figured Id share the WIPs with everyone here, I think the first 2 turned out really nice. So here yar DAKKA

Ideas welcomed because I havnt even started the 3rd one.

What are the wings made out of? Also, the ball-point bombs are very creative

Of course. Ive been telling people on here for years that the tips of pens make perfect rokkits/missiles. Guess it just took awhile for me to get around to actually taking a picture of what I meant

I wish you would have posted it earlier! I have been looking everywhere for something to make missiles and rokkits out of. Finding toy missiles is almost impossible!

Now since we are sharing secrets, I will give you one as well. I found these at walmart. They make perfect bombs!

Your ideas are awesome and very orky. I love how the rockets are the tips of pens. I never would have thought to use that.

Some years ago my folks had a pool and we had those very toys (or something similar anyways) never thought of those. And I agree, whats so damn hard about finding good rokkits/missiles? You just cant find them lol

They come in a couple different sizes, I think hes talking for APOC games. Theres an Ork unit you can take (dunno the name as I dont play APOC) but its basically a BIG ass rokkit, think German V2 missile during WW2

Those are great Def Jetz! I am thinking of doing something similar at some point, I have 3 AoBR Koptas, and they just aren't doing it for me, they need to be converted! But what are your's using for propulsion? Some kind of thruster? I couldn't see from the pics. Personnaly I plan to use the thrusters from OOP Dark Eldar jet bikes.

Those up there are about 4.5 inches long. They do have really big ones too. The ones I posted a pic of are perfect for fightabommas.

Well I could just cheat and go the "they are Orks, and think they fly so they fly" route. But I wont. I just got the idea to crank them out and went at it. I originally thought about how to make jet turbines but nothing was looking right so I said screw it and moved on. They still have engines on the back, so those MUST do something, how exactly they make it fly though

Hmm I split the AoBR box with a friend for the Space Marines and was looking at the Deffkoptas before he left. Something you could do is get ahold of some Tau stealthsuits and attach their backpacks to the back of the Kopta

did you notice that the one Deffjet doesn't have but one tail fin?

anyways, good ork bombs can be made from those jelly bean toy things you get at big lots, you just need to cut it in half and remove the ball bearing inside, then glue it back together and put fins on it made out of plasticard. rokkits though are another story, but i do know there is a golf tee that can be used for rokkits, don't know the name of it, but here's a pic:

However, i think the ball point pens are the cheaper version since i can get 10 pens for dollar at Dollar General.
the rest of your rokkits look like shaved sprue and plasticard(credit card) bits, is this correct?

Sabastion - The rokkits are just ink pens and the fins are random plasticard carved into crude triangles. I just just the tube to the length I liked and then put super glue in the end so the ink doesnt ever leak out. Ill work on getting my tutorial done today, so as long as Im not lazy Ill have it up today or tomorrow, so everything will be known then

Also the golf tees are a great idea

Since you are using pens anyway, have you already done something with the outsides? The pen barrels? Because you could cut off a short piece, and just glue it to the back!
I did something similar for my raptor Jump Packs:

you wouldn't even need to do any GS work since they're Orks, and don't have to look fancy, just workable.

No problem. Actually I think the smaller ones just came out this year. I just bought another pack of them about an hour ago. They are called Toypedo Bandits if you decide to go looking for them.
