It's very flat, maybe add a highlight to the red and give the mini a Badab Black or Ogryn Flesh wash to help. Maybe add some extra colours, like make the gloves black to make it a bit more interesting.

It's a nice tidy start though.

Not too bad, I would say it needs some shading and maybe a wash.

It has a greyphonne and a heavy red wash, the base coat is mechrite red (the foundation), I highlighted it with mechrite after the washes but its verry light, blood red was way to bright for highlights. Im thinking blood red with devlin mud wash in stead of mechrite as a base? At least that way I can highlight alot better, well in theory anyway lol.

Or highlight with Mechrite + Blood Red and increase the amount of Blood Red as you get closer to hard edges etc. Also remember that highlighting is a lot more forgiving when you use thinned paints as you need several layers to get decent coverage so a few slips aren't likely to be very noticeable.

It's a good start though, as has been said you may want to pick out some details in a different colour or two just to break up the red.

Hmmm il give that a shot before I start again lol. I was planing on making one of his sholder pads alpha legion colours (thats how im painting the rest of my army) so that will break it up a bit. That being said he is still a wip.
Cheers for the comments and ideas guys.

It looks like a zerker, and thats a good thing

The OSL - Youve got the idea right but youve got part of it backwards. The light is ALWAYS brighter then the light effect. So the eyes should be the brighter green, and it dulls from there. Youve just got it backwards is all. Try it again, but how I said and itll look decent to good at least

Also your gold doesnt look thick which is another good thing, gold is one of those colors that just looks like it blobs, and I didnt notice that

When it comes to eyes, I make a mess on purpose. Orks has really small eyes and it can be a pain in the ass to paint them well, so basically just glob your eye color over the area, dont worry if you get it on the eye brow/face area afterwards just touch up where you got paint on. Yours Id say paint the eyes the bright color, wash it a bit so it dulls down the recesses as well as do an auto shade on the eye, then hit the eye again but focus on the center part with the bright color. That should help with the pulse you get from glowing stuff. Then do your dull colors on the parts around the eyes how you did normally.

Also this time around try not making the glow area so wide. Remember that the only parts that are glowing should be the parts that light can hit. And coming from the eyes it looks a tad weird glowing on the forehead
