That item alone would have won him the game if he bounced the miscast in your last game...
Good read!

Heh, thanks.
Do you think he'd have won with that alone? I don't really. It might have changed a few things, and made the game go longer, but in the end, I think I'd have still won...

Thanks for sharing - I know (too well!) the strain of getting pictures taken during games, and then remembering enough afterwards to make a successful Adepticon battle report.
For reference: Game 3, turn 2: the slaves can't come out of Reserve and charge you, as Reserves arrive in Remaining Moves. (But looking at the pictures, I suspect they arrived on Turn 1.)

Hm, thanks for the reference. I think you're probably right- the guy was pretty straightforward with me- if he 'cheated', I'm sure he didn't mean to. But it's good to know that for sure.

Great reports xaereth! Well written and the pictures were better than decent. I really like your list too. 4 chariots isn't typical. Refreshing to see.

Good read, kept me entertained while waiting for new tires to be put on my car Speaking of sick rides, awesome list with all of those chariots! I for one cannot wait for GeeDub to finally make a plastic chaos chariot - there really is nothing that fits on the market - because despite what some think chariots really are pretty sweet in 8th ... Thanks! - Salvage

Good read, thanks for the reports. I didn't quite follow how you were sniping the Heirophant to death in the first game. Was he walking the guy around outside his units for some reason? Or does the lifetaker have sniper and I just have never realized it until now?
Not much you can do in the second game when war machines hit like crazy. I find war machine shooting susceptible to wild swings in effectiveness. Lots of potential, but can also fail hard too.

On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”

Zeke: Yeah, he was walking him around outside his units. I had LoS to him though, and since Lifetaker always hits on a 2+, it didn't matter what sort of modifier I would have been shooting with. He had slightly below average rolls, but really, those guys die pretty easy. His 4+ lookout sir! availed him not, heh.
As for the warmachines, I agree- they can do some nasty stuff, but in the end, I feel like I'd have an alright shot against that list if I had been smarter about where I put my hydras and actually passed one of my leadership checks, despite his amazing rolling.
Bosses Salvage and Grizznit: Heh, I like chariots, and I liked that I had the opportunity to convert them all. It's a pain in the arse that they don't even sell a Cold One Chariot model at all, but that's just how it goes I guess.
From a gameplay perspective, they hit incredibly hard IF you use them to hit in 'packs', but one thing I kept noticing is that they take forever to get to a gunline. Not being able to march is painful- it kept making me want to try out Cold One Knights, haha.

As the opponent for this game, I agree with this. 7/8 mortar direct hits vs a t3 army is ridiculous, to say nothing of that double-pit on the hydras. If it makes you feel better, in my final game (also vs. dark elves), I didn't roll a single direct hit all game, except when I also rolled a misfire. Zeke's point about "wild swings" is well taken.
I note that one of the comments on your blog report accused me of "cheating" you. Care to clarify?

I think the cheating thing was in reference to the double pitting, and I'm guessing the poster thinks that pit must be targeted at a model, rather than the 'pick any spot' that the spell actually reads. I did have to look up the spell text to make sure, but I see nothing wrong myself.

Yeah, think that's what he was saying. For the record, I think you had the right of it, though it makes me sad to admit it, since it just means I'm a dummy, essentially.
As to the poetic justice of you not hitting in your game 4: at least those guys aren't a huge part of your gameplan. They're pretty good, but if they don't perform well, it won't generally mean you auto-lose.
