hey there, I have never used plasticard in my life and I wish aquire some for use of shoulder pads and other armour segments. However being a freshfaced modeller I am not even sure where to get plasticard let alone what type. So what thickness plasticard would be best for armour and where can I get some in the UK. And for rivets, where do I get thin plastic rod? Advice will be deeply appreciated!

I use 1mm for rivets, and USUALLY .5mm of armour. You will find that 1mm is a pretty good allrounder.

I, too, would like a link to some ABS rod. I've been making do with clipping up random "bitz".
As for the plasticard, I get mine in A4 sheets from a small craft shop. Might be worth a try.

If we in the antipodes can get Evergreen at our hobby stores, then you in blighty should be able to.
Proper hobby stores, that is, not necessarily gaming stores. With the radio controlled cars/tanks/helicopters, model kits, model trains, etc.

Where abouts in the UK are you based? Evergreen are a good supplier for plastic rod and other bits like girders and such but you would have to be insane to pay the prices they charge for normal plasticard.
I have found a supplier that will sell you 25 sheets of 1mm thick 1322x660mm for £162.68 plus delivery. that's 21.8 square meters if my math dosen't fail me. Imagine the possibilities. And only £7.46 ish per square Meter when evergree charges around £3.49 for two 150x300mm sheet which works out if my math is right to £38.77 per square meter................. I guess it's all a matter of scale do you have the storage room for a big packet of styrene sheets.
the name on the site is FALCON HI IMPACT POLYSTYRENE 1372*660 1000 mic WHITE MATT/GLOSS PS1016 FILMED
Now I realise that's an awefull lot of plasticard but it would last you for ever or if you have a local gaming club you could get together and put in a bulk purchase and split it up?
the web address is https://www.esp-roberthorne.co.uk/StoreHome.aspx
they have a dedicated delivery company called 'the delivery co' which you should be able to find pretty easy if you do a google search

I know sheets are the best place to get via ebay or whatever, but for plastic rod evergreen seems the best in my opinion
