Your painboy conversion is well done! Good brush control, well painted. A wash may make some of the details pop more, thraka green for the skin and devlan mudn for weapons etc. You have a pretty cool looking ork mob there.

Looks like you have the base coats done. Just need to add some shading and highlights to make it all stand out.

I like what ya got there. Only Advice I could give is maybe a green wash over the flesh, and a badab black or devlin mud wash over some of the metal.

But even if you leave it as is....it looks great!

Looking good there. I like the 90's GW look you have going on there, dunno if you meant it or not? Nice clean lines and good steady brush work....all in all 10/10!

thanks for all the replies guys! i was worried that the pics weren't the best quality.

I may try some washes and more highlighting on upcoming models. I was going for a clean and reletively simple color scheme for the boyz since i'll be doing alot of them before i'm done ... been thinking of getting Thraka so i could use that as an excuse to go all out on 1 model.

They are painted so well, but you wont really be looking right till you drop a wash and a drybrush on them.
They are only 3/4 the way finished!
No need to wait for your upcoming models to do any of this, do it to the ones you have now.
you'll end up doing it later anyway, once you see how much a wash does for them.

Really nice work. I really like the red and white pattern across the Deff Dreads. The converted Painboy model is also very nice, I especially like his saw-ringe thing too. Keep up the good work!

Still liking them, the Deff Kopta is particularly nice. Hope the rest of the army turns out that way!

At risk of beating a dead squig, these guys are clearly well painted, but a wash would do wonders for them. Nice work though.

Thanks for all the comments guys, i'm glad the paint jobs are going over so well ,now that college classes have let out for me for the summer i hope to get waaagh gorzag really up and running.

So thraka green is the best wash to finish these guys off? I've never used one before so i'm just alittle curious about tehniques or the best way to apply it and how long of a process it is, stuff like that.

Also, the warboss and painboy both have a matt varnish already, can you put a wash over it and then another coat of varnish over top of that?

Actually I used Devlan Mud to wash my Orks skin and was very pleased with the results, but of course I was going for a very dark skin tone.

You got the basics right!

To add a little depths, shadows and mud to your orks, try to wash a whole ork in Badab Black. This will take 10 seks and look great.
