I have an upcoming small local 2k tourney and I'm having problems dealing with the new DE. Probably half of the tourney will be playing the new Dark Eldar using lots of Venoms and 3x Ravagers with Duke and/or Asdrubael Vect. All alpha strike list. I typically play with Drop Podding Librarians and Dreads but get butchered by the staggering amount of Blasters/Dark Lances. Any suggestions of list/units would be very helpful.

The best quick advice I would have is don't Drop Pod versus DE. I'm always happy when my opponent goes that route, as it usually plays to the strengths of my army.

Rax is being a little specific, but hits the nail on the head well enough. The primary way of dealing with DE is to deal with our vehicles - we do not like not having vehicles.

The best way to kill our vehicles is with med-high strength weapons that generate multiple shots. Our Flickerfields are awesome, but it's still just a 5+ save. The goal is to tag us enough you manage to get 1-2 penetrating hits through.

Remember, a lascannon is basically as dangerous to us as a missile launcher and a melta gun. They're all one hit hopefuls that our invulnerable save or you missing your attack can hopefully ward off.

As a general bit of advice that wouldn't gak you up with still having a TAC list - I'd say that the best tool in the Marine armory is probably the ol' reliable autocannon. Multiple shots, rending, good strength. Those things are always near the top of my priority kill list.

Other than that...um...well, we'll outshoot you, out maneuver you, and probably out assault you too. The best tool you have is hoping to out last us - and your best way of doing that is gunning down the vehicles and than just boltering everything else to death.

Beyond that I have no advice without seeing your list.

List so far looks like:

HQ

Librarian w/ Powers: Blood Lance & Shield of Sanguinius

ELITE

Furioso Dreadnaught w/ Magna Grapple & Frag Cannon in Drop Pod

TROOPS

2 x 5 Assault Marines w/Meltagun in Razorback w/Assault Cannon
3 x 5 Assault Marines w/Flamer in Razorback w/Assault Cannon

FAST ATTACK

Baal Predator w/ TL Assault Cannon
Baal Predator w/ TL Assault Cannon
3x Land Speeders w/ HB & Typhoon ML

HEAVY SUPPORT

3x Riflemen Dreads

I still have 55 points to play around with. Plans will be to use Libby's Shield to help protect as many vehicles as possible not in cover from DE's opening alpha strike. Hoping Furioso podding in will line up 1-2 DE vehicles with frag cannon.

Any suggestions?

That seems pretty solid. DE have autocannons and assault cannons and you have lots of them.

However be smart about deploying your dreads because they are the only thing that outrange the DE Lances, you don't want to lost them turn one.

I agree that it's a pretty good list. The Furioso might be the weak point, you could trade it for a sixth Razorback squad.

Current Record: 5 Wins, 6 Draws, 3 Losses 2000 points

In Progress: 500 points

Orginally I did have the 6th squad, exchanged it for the dread. May change it back.

Dropping the furioso dread and picking up another 5 man squad w/ melta and razorback with assault cannons. Also adding HBs to both Baals.
