Basically i bought a model off of ebay as i had only seen it a very small amount of times but ended up paying £22 whoops :( still very much looking forward to painting it. Think i'll be painting a different colour scheme from the rest.

Anyway anybody know why there are so few of these chaps around?

Looks like an old Farseer (it looks like is says farseer on the base) or a warlock. Definitely Eldar for sure.

It was a limited release Specialist games (Necromunda) model.

She was only ever available through direct GW sale (not in store).

I believe (but not 100% certain) that the model came with 2 Fire Dragon bodyguards.

Aye, they were unique fire dragons as well.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

I know someone who paid $50 for that thing.

Rarity and desire makes everything far far more valuable to an individual.

That said, it's a fairly nice model. I forgot it was supposed to be a woman though.

Certainly something of value to an Eldar enthusiast...

I know I have paid more than some would for certain Rackham and Ilyad sculpts...

beauty is in the eye of the beholder... and market forces/ebay take advantage of this sometimes

According to the magazine article that came out with it - that's a MALE farseer. It specifically mentions Yrthrian Mardawn and HIS Fire Dragon bodyguard.

Admittedly, it is often hard to tell the sexes apart with the girldar, often coming down to whom has the slightly larger booby armour (He's not a female, he just has moobs).

Know what you mean. I'm more of a fan of the action/dynamically posed models. But I've always loved that model. Something about the cloak over his shoulder ...

I like stuff.

I managed to get a couple of these sculpts a few years back, and am using one now for a Spiritseer. It fits the look, the faceplate is not split when you view from the front, and he has a staff instead of a spear or sword.

Yeah, a beautiful sculpt, pity they stopped making it.
