Being a successor to the Imperial Fists it would be feasible for them to have one of these. Either way they do in my interpretation. Considering a large portion of the Space Hulk they call home remains largely unexplored i would imagine there could be a large number of things re-purposed.

Actually, It was very simple. The resin pieces fit in place nicely. You have to do your share of cutting, sanding, & soaking as with any Resin models, but they fit the included LR sprue very well.

As far as the purple is concerned I use the straight up Liche Purple from GW. I thin it a bit and generally apply a couple coats. I get an even coat by using a larger brush and crosshatching my strokes. It seems to flow out well.

Daaang!
when i used to paint SoulDrinkers, they didn't have an almost perfect match.

every model, i had to mix Warlock Purple + Midnight blue together, so there were varying shades! ha.

do you have a full army pic?

I have an almost complete company... I think I will call them the "final" company as about 100 is all there is left of the Chapter when Sarpedon surrenders to Lysander. I do have a pic but it's not the best, I currently have them laid out on my board downstairs but wasn't going to take a picture until I was done. I'll throw the army pic I currently have(on my kitchen table). Not the greatest image but it'll have to do...hehe

THANKS!! Well I guess the more you paint the better you get. It's interesting I can see the progression as well. Thanks for all the compliments and critiques, this is a fantastic hobby and it's great to hear from like-minded folks!!

Very nice, although one thing I noticed was the Multi-Meltas, particularly on the second to last photo: are they attached correctly, as they look like they're sticking out too much there?

They are a bit long, but that's how Forgeworld made them. But I assure you they don't attach any other way. You get 4 Multi-meltas and then the regular sprue. They have holes molded to attach so, unless those are wrong...

granted the track armor was incorrect, I had to cut an paste since the gave me 2 left side track armor pieces rather than a left and right.

I am actually having a gentleman by the name of Ron saikowski do a conversion for me. I am going to paint it myself but he is designing the model. He has a blog called from the warp and he does some really awesome work.

I love the sould drinkers and this model. Excellent work. The weapon options on this tank must make it a beast! I like the way it was painted, nice beattle wear.

Can you only use this in Armageddon battles? Does anyone know if the BA's can use it?

According to the FW rules it can be used by Codex, Dark Angels, and Space Wolves. It was initially put into use by the Imperial Fists, so all of their successor chapters can use it including Black Templars. BA's unfortunately cannot as of now. But if you are playing Apocalypse I would say go ahead. Otherwise as most FW stuff ask your opponent if they are willing to allow it. I have yet to field it as the last battle I fought was only 850 points versus some DA and an Orky Kult of Speed. I want to run it with a MoTF crew and his retinue furthering it's ass-kickiness, but that is well over 1/2 the points in an 850 game. I figure minimum 1500-1750 points game to field it. I would have loved to whomp on all those troops with the TFC though...

Thanks for the info. Maybe I will buy it for a Apoc game...as my army (once I get my hands on mephiston this week) is 4000 pts. I still need a super heavy though, more than likely I will go after a Fellblade. You model is beautiful though, and its weapons are awesome.

Have you used any wash mate? I used the same colour on my Eldar but I used levithian wash which I think darkens it down. Would like nice that colour for a possible Emperors Children army!

I ahve used the Leviathan wash on some of my troops, I have considerd going back to it, but I find I use Devlan Mud and Badab Black most of the time. I think certain pieces would benefit from the Leviathan Purple...Good Call!

I was thinking devlan mud myself tbh. I just found the wash made stuff too dark sometimes.

The Devlan Mud seems to be the best all around wash, but the Black can definitely be too Dark.

Thanks for the kind words!! I am gonna get the whole force set up when finished on my table and will throw some photos up. I thought I was done, but ended up getting a Sternguard Squad, so I added a little more time, but other than that I have a Landraider Crusader that is in need of paint and a squad of scout bikes... I look forward to finishing the company.

Being as I didn't stick to strictly to the fluff, I would consider this the remnants of the Souldrinker AFTER Sarpedon surrenders to Lysander. It's left up in the air as to what happens with the remainder of the company other than Iktinos seems to have been corrupted... I am currently having a Sarpedon model being made by the very able Ron Saikowski http://fromthewarp.blogspot.com/p/commissions_10.html
