Hey everyone,

We will be hosting our 'Second Saturday' GW tournament next weekend on Saturday, May 14. This time around we are only going to be doing a 40k event. The WHFB turnout of late has not been enough to merit running the event, and there's going to be a card-game tournament running in the background that day, so Fantasy had to go.

We will be running 40k yet again at 1850, a lot of our regular players weren't able to make it out for the April event so we're going to do 1850 at least one more time before we mix up the points again. It will be a standard RTT format with 3 games at 1850 points.

The Sportsmanship score is 0-2-4-6. The Composition score is a simple Thumbs Up / Thumbs Down notation. I will be keeping the additional weight to the Comp score. There will be three bonus points available to players this time around:

+1 tournament point for having a legible copy of your army list for me to keep
+1 tournament point for being at the store and ready to play by 10:00am
+1 tournament point for being back on time from lunch

For the tournament there is a $10 entry (or $20 purchase) to play, and the doors will be open as of 9:00am for players to come in and get set up. I want to kick this one off as close to 10:00am as possible so we don't go too long. There will be prizes for Best Overall, Best General, Best Sportsman, and Best Army. Prizes are awarded in GW product of the winner's choice.

The prize split remains 70-30-25-25 for Overall, General, Army, and Sportsman respectively.

The schedule will stick as closely as possible to the following:
9:00am - 10:00 - check-in, sign-up, event preamble, pairings
10:00am - 12:15pm - Round 1
12:15 - 1:00 - Lunch
1:00 - 3:45 - Round 2
4:00 - 6:15 - Round 3
6:30 - Winners announced

It all goes down at Game Empire Pasadena
2302 E. Colorado Blvd.
Pasadena, CA. 91107
626-304-9333

The following Grey Knight rulings will apply:

- A Dreadknight with a personal teleporter is a monstrous creature that moves as though it were jump infantry (just like a Tyrant with wings)
- Inquisitorial henchmen in an army with Coteaz are Troops choices, which means that they are limited to 6 choices
- Nemesis falchions grant +1A total.
- Non-shooting psychic powers may be attempted multiple times if the psyker can use multiple powers in a turn, each attempt counting as one use of a psychic power for the turn.

*Still wearing that bullet proof vest, crash helmet, and padded suit. If I forgot something, please ask about it.

Please let me know here or on the tournament thread on the Game Empire forums if you're planning on attending so I can get a rough idea what to expect. You can RSVP on Game Empire's facebook and you will receive a discounted entry fee or purchase amount for doing so.

Finally, if anyone out there is interested in being available as a 'ringer' for the at least the first round or two, I would be very appreciative and spiff you accordingly. Basically, you'd pay no entry fee, only have to play for the first round or two as your schedule permits, and get some swag in exchange for making sure the odd man has an actual game, instead of just free points. And if we get a even number of players, you'd be free to hang or bail as you see fit.

If you have any comments or questions, let me know here or give a call to the store, and hopefully I'll see you there!
-Dis.

I am thinking it may be possible for me to make it out to this one! I need to get my SW on the table and their legs stretched a bit before the Bay Area Open after all!

I'm sorry if it hurts your feelings or pride, but your credentials matter. Even on the internet.

I like the FB thingy.

May-hap I might even get enough DE painted to run them.

Shocking:
No GKs! (didn't miss one, did I?)
*One* ork army?! And it wasn't a Kan Wall.

A White Scars list?!?

The 3 DE armies is an anomaly to our store, as these are some regulars attendees.
Lotsa Parking Lots. Normal.
2 Bug lists. Normal.
A few of the other SM codexes: 2 BAs, SW, Vanilla, Deathwing (store regular), BT. Normal.

But I'm quite surprised that the GKs were not in attendance.
