After dropping in speed in painting my Blood Ravens I started to look for something different to paint, and after some thinking I went for GK's. I cant say I disslike the original colors as GW uses, but I dont like it that much that Ill destroy the models with my bad version of that colorscheme, so after testing out some regular grey I ran into Stiyx's GK's and really liked that colorscheme. I started to test out some different ways, but after some PM's I ended up using similar colors as Stixy.

I did run into airmang lovely GK's with battle damaged armor, but when I realised I wouldnt be able to do as good looking damage myself, I went for the Desert themed GK's.

The models are following the same theme as my Blood Ravens, ie K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid!). And if you are hiding in a desert storm, you dont want shiney things on the armor showing the Xenos where you are =)

So, here comes a little preview of what hopefully will be a little playable GK army

Looks good, are you going to be doing anything with the eye lenses?

Exactly my thoughts, desert camo doesn't really look like that, Deathwing however do.

When I manage to get better controll on the detail brush and small object Ill fix the eye lenses on these and the BR terminators =)

Well, I did say that they are Desert themed, not using Desert Camo

But yes, it did end up quite much like the Death Wing Terminators. Didnt want to go for silver, and allready painting red ones, so it ended up with Death Wing GK's =P

^^ Those eye lenses need to be colored!

As for the color choice: It's... interesting...

Some details picked out will help the overall appearance. Say, painting the ribbed joints something like grey, black, silver.

But hey, I'm a Dark Angels player. I grabbed up a Brother-Captain Stern as Belial. I think it's an awesome look.

I will echo the picking out details bit.

However, I think it looks quite good and very deserty. So the sand coloring is quite decent.
