entered my first painting competition today at my local GW sotre in Brighton, and i won first place in the 40k single model category

well... nothing really lol, the competition was set up on short notice so i won a mini deamon trophy, but there was talk of possible prizes in the future, new manager said he will try and run one once a month so ...

Nice and neat. Nothing fancy, just a solid job.

Drill the bolter (a minute spent drilling out barrels makes things look better! Use the correct tools and technique!) and you should pull a 6 on CMON with that.

Expect to be able to charge around £15 / $30 for work consistently of that level for characters. I'm presuming it looks a little better in the flesh - your photo skills are next to bring up to par. Use a plain or gradient backdrop, nothing too distracting, light well, and mount the camera on a tripod. Macro if you have it, otherwise work at the correct focal distance and crop the image later.

Musta been a pain in the @$$ with all the detail around the skull helmet. Nice old look, good job on scrolls. Coulda made the skullwind symbols brighter to represent the SM's beliefs in the emperor and all that.

I meant the Imperial signs and stuff, they are called Skullwind. The golden eagle whatever it's called.
