The only problem there is the volume and weight, shipping would add to the cost. Then again, commission painting is already an investment, $100 extra dollars here or there is minor. Hmm...

We are from the Internet, we are here to help.
(check out the commission painters link in the swap shop to see what people produce, and in many cases, who endorses them. As a painter myself, I will say that in most cases shipping isn't that huge of a problem, I'm in Florida and my most common client is in Canada and if speed isn't mission critical, shipping can be quite low at times.

Hell yes I do! I'm in Houston myself, want to get together for a game and we can talk shop? Automatically Appended Next Post: Flat rate shipping for the most part leaves no room for quality shipping of metal models. Metal dreadnaught? Good luck packing that so that it isn't a cannonball rattling around in the package.
There are quite a few great options for you in the North Houston area even if you don't want to go through me. My work is mostly with custom conversions and sculpts, and I can see how someone perusing my gallery would want to choose another venue.
But seriously, if you're free this Saturday I could at the very least introduce you to some full time painters in the Houston area.

Heres some work that I did fairly quickly that I would deem "Decent".
Don't want to clutter the thread, but these are two of my Trygons.

I should be free this Saturday. I'll be playing Warmachine at Asgard tomorrow as well.
The 40K project I'm contemplating having done is quite large (about $1400 of Death Korps and about 15 various IG vehicles).

If you haven't purchased the models, why not get the painter to buy them and just pay the cost of shipping to you?
That's what I do with my long-distance commissions (shipping to Japan ain't cheap!)
PM me if you're interested.

They are already purchased (or rather collected and scrounged over a period of a year), and have a big battlefoam bag that theoretically should fit most of it.
