Hi there!

I liked GW's Death Guard paint scheme (the one in the picture below) but I don't have any idea about how it's painted. There's a painting tutorial in the GW webpage, but it's a different paint scheme. So, if you know how could this be done (specially if you're an experienced painter), I would be grateful. I mean not only the armor but the bloated flesh on the right arm and effects too. Many thanks! ^^

Not sure about the armour, but the flest looks like a simple Dark Flesh basecoat that's been highlighted with Dwarf and then Elf Fleshes, probably with a last highlight of Bleached Bone to take the "life" out of the colour.

Thank you! I supposed the armor could be camo green washed with bestial brown and highlighted with rotten flesh, but I may be completely wrong.

You're not going to get an effect exactly like that unless you track down the person who painted it themselves and ask them. The best you are going to get otherwise is making guesses like that yourself or trying out guesses from other painters. So my advice would be see if anyone else has suggestions, or try out your own idea. The worst that can happen is you don't like how it turns out and have to strip the paint off and start over.

In the words of the late, great Colonel Sanders: "I'm too drunk to taste this chicken."

I know, I didn't wan to get the exact same effect, but I liked the feeling. About strippping paint off: how could I do that by the way? Solvents, maybe? Which ones?

Heh. I've actually got the step-by-step for painting that scheme in an old White Dwarf. It was Seb Perbert of the 'Eavy Metal Team, in White Dwarf #281. He showed how to do it on Typhus, Herald of Nurgle.

Painting it:
He was given a basecoat of Catachan Green, and a thinned Flesh Wash was applied over the top of that. Small amounts of Rotting Flesh were mixed into Catachan Green and applied as successive highlights. The edges of the armor were highlighted with Rotting Flesh, and the final highlight was a 50/50 mix of Rotting Flesh and Skull White.

Bronzed Flesh was painted onto the helmet as a basecoat, the recesses of the helmet were painted with Brown Ink thinned with water. The helmet was then highlighted with Bleached Bone, then a 50/50 mix of Bleached Bone and Skull White, then finally Skull White on its own. Dribbles of slime were then applied to the helmet with a 50/50 Brown and Dark Green Ink mix.
The metal was done with 5 parts Boltgun Metal, 3 parts Dark Angels Green, and two parts Chaos Black. They were then washed with an equal parts mix of Dark Green, Brown, and Black Ink. Was finally highlighted with Boltgun Metal and then finished off with Chainmail.

The guts were done with a 50/50 mix of Scab Red and Bronzed Flesh. To finish it, it was highlighted with 1 part Scab Red to 4 parts Bronzed Flesh.

Hey many thanks!! Taking note of this! I'm probably stripping the paint off my plague marines and start over with this ^^
