Hey guys, I have a friend that hasn't signed up for dakka yet and is a little self conscious of his models, so I figured i would hold him at bolter point until he game me some pics to put up here. Let me know what you think. He knows he needs to finish Librarian Tigurius, and lighten up his face, as well as clean up the model. He doesn't think he is a very good painter and I keep telling him he is better than he gives himself credit for. Any feedback here will be given to him. Thanks so much guys!

Paintjobs are very good, way better than mine! Although I think thats a wee bit too much text. I swear they must have the entire codex astartes written on those vehicles! The free hand is excellent

Yeah, his idea for a land raider is the ENTIRE story for ideau's bridge battle on it. So much scrawling...... I personally love the tech marine and how he did it, followed closely by the dread.

Nice paint jobs! I actually like all the text on the vehicles and dreadnoughts. It gives them some character and breaks up the large blue panels that would be left plain normally. Although I suffer from the same urge to have writings all over my marines and vehicles for that exact reason...haha.

Bah! Bunch of bleeding hearts, here. Now, what you do when you have a self-conscious friend is belittle him constantly until he gives up on painting and is too ashamed to play with the models, at which point you swoop in and end up with decent sized batch of rather nicely painted minis.

He's bashful about these jewels? This person has the gift! Toss in the wonderful, wonderful meshing of MK1 kits and newer stuff (the Techmarine jumps to mind). Tell your artist friend would be more than welcome here!

The scriptings quality, I hate ultramarines for looking so damned plain but that scripting really brings them out with detracting from the chapter colours.

Excellent skill.

As for Tigurius' banner, why doesn't he check out Fall of Damnos (novel) for inspiration? A show down between the mega librarian and a bunch of necrons is sure to yield inspiration.

I love the boldness of the colours and the attention to detail; some of the highlights are a little too thickly applied though, but that sort of refinement can only get better with practise.

your 'friend' should definitely post some more WiP stuff on here and get some feedback from the more experienced painters on the boards.
