Hey guys, I'll make it short and sweet. I'm working on an extremely gothic and imposing venerable dreadnought, and I want him to have an appropriately awesome storm-shield style arm to go with his furioso force weapon. Anyone know of any parts or pieces that would be to scale? Thanks in advance, you guys never let me down!

You could use a rhino/LR hatch/door or something like this, and go from there.

I would personally make it out of plasticard, and add bitz + green stuff on it to detail it

Check the Cities of Death walls, there are some great Gothic details on there, which I've reused for all sorts of conversions. Getting them off can take a lot of work with a razor saw though... :(

Fluffwise, something with a big GK symbol (or aquilla?) on it would seem sensible.

Off on a tangent from Mikalichou's idea, perhaps the Dread could _literally_ be holding a rhino/LR door (with some sort of handle welded/bolted to the inside)? Especially one with a GK symbol on it. This could either be a rough battlefied modification, or a carefully built 'memorial' to honour some rhino crew/passengers from a past battle

Wow, thanks Clang and Mikalichou! I got a Black Templar door for a Land Raider, and am doing a quick conversion using the shield handle from a Gundam model I have lying around. Should come out great. I'll post pics when it's done!

Looks great !!

I'd consider eliminating the "teeth" at the top of the door to make it look ... less like a door. Also, trim off the hinges from the bottom. From there, you could edge it with some plasticard to build a rim around the shield. If thick enough, you could then add some rivets to the rim.

Also, you might want to rotate the arm up a bit in order to set the shield a little bit more horizontal ... right now the chains defy gravity.

Perhaps also remove the hinges at the bottom of the door as well.

Looking good so far though.

You mentioned Dread Shield arm and this was what came straight to mind!..Seems a damn good option in my mind, but I love your conversion!
