I've played 40k for many years. I getting into my 30's now, but when I started I still lived under the keen eye of my parents. So in the beginning there were topics that I could address in modeling and art & then there was the "cool" stuff.
I'm willing to admit it. When I was younger I loved shock value I loved Slaanesh! He/she is by far the only Chaos god I would ever consider fallowing. But I always had a complaint with the models. The only Slaanesh in 40K were ugly. I don't mean that they were bad models, in fact quite the opposite. The Noise Marines had fantastic detail. What I mean is that for some reason Slaanesh like to beat them with the ugly stick when He/she was granting them his/her favors. This was all good but I kept thinking that there had to be some sexy Noise Marines out there! Which led me to wanting to convert them up. I also found my self compelled to paint and model demonic people with out the old hooves and horns ( just couldn't stay away from those horns, but I tried)

Here are the standard troops. I love free handing Slaanesh symbols.

I loved these models when they come out. I have no clue why they changed them so much in with the plastic release.

I'm in the mood to finish this army (by that I mean I wish some one would sneak in middle of the night and paint them for me). So I'm going to finish a piece that I had almost finished for a long while.

Now for the rest of the squad! these are some of my favorite conversions to date. There is so much freedom in converting CSM. This was even more true in forth edition where you could boost any stat on your chosen. You could give them and extra attack or you could increase their strength by 1, all as long as you paid the points and then showed it on the model. I miss that codex.
What was on my mind as I made these guys was pretty simple. I wanted a croup of tough as nails close combat vets that would speed forward in a rhino and then summon Demons with an Icon. That way I could deliver all of my close combat in 1 rhino while my sonic weapons stay back and do there thing. The second thing that I had in mind was the way demonic investment would be handled by slaanesh. I wanted the Noise marines that were into the Drugs and self indulgence with slaves and music to be gifted with androgyny, and youth, while the more violent ones who indulged through combat, and self mutilation would become more demonic in appearance.

Thanks Jariksolo. It might be to dark or it may be the lighting. Do you see how light she looks from behind? The natural light was making my camera earn its keep during this shoot.
