Hello, here is my non Plague Marine model I painted in the colors of Nurgle as a quick test before I started to paint my Chaos Army of a fairly decent size. I like this paint scheme because this model only took an hour (even though the power sword is nt finished). I just had one question, if I painted my Plague Marines like this would it be easy to assume what legion they are from? All tips and suggestions are very much appreciated.

Oh, and I haven't painted in over a year so please don't be too critical haha.

I've got my Nurgle marines painted the same way. Everyone that sees them says "Ooh Death Guard?" I don't think you'll have any issues, especially if you run the Nurgle icons.

While I like the color scheme, and the mini is well painted, there is nothing about it that particularly indicates it's a " Plague Marine/Death Guard".
Just looks like a Green CSM, now...if you clearly state to your opponent that they are "Plague Marines" , I don't see a problem, but you may want to think about adding some elements that more clearly convey Plague/rot/blight and other such Nurgley goodness.

I like the scheme, it's easily recognizable as a nurgle dedicated marine, but maybe not death guard in particular...my suggestion would be to change the grey trim, change it to a dark oily silver, it would look more grungy/death guard

And, this was done with a very limited paint pallet. Once I can get out of the barracks this weekend I plan to get a few more paints and inks.

Well then, your all set, the paint scheme should transfer over to your "real" Plague Marines just fine.
Though starhawks idea about a more "weathered" looking armor trim might work nicely.

It looks really good. But i'd have to agree with the idea of making the grey metalic. Other than that awesome job.

okay, update. Got some new paints, and this is just a sample of how I am going to be painting my Death Guard. Heres how I did it, let me know what you think, it's;
-Snot Green painted on all the armour.
-Goblin Green randomly put on in tiny dots and patches
-Bleached Bone drybrush
-Bleached Bone highlights
-Devlan Mud wash on armour
-Gryphonne Sepia was on armour

Still working on the trim, but I think that I'm going to go with Old Bronze, with Boltgun Metal as a highlight and Devlan Mud wash around the rivets.

That splotchy finish will look great if it's matched up with a more consistent trim (which seems to be where you're going with it). Some more flat consistency on the metals will keep the green armor from looking _unintentionally_ splotchy (as opposed to carefully, purposely splotchy ).

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

Thank you Savnock! I am actually doing some more work on the model right now and plan to do some of the trim and metals. I will post another picture or two before bed.

Did more of the armour, just started the metallics on his crotch piece.
