Okay, so normally I play necrons, however, I recently sold my necron army in anticipation of building a new necron army but with how rumors are right now, looks like I'm going to be waiting quite a while for the next codex...

So now I'm putting together a Chaos Space Marine/Renegade army and I just bought a box of Chaos Raptors and, since I'm kind of on a budget, two squads of Red Scorpions Veterans from Forge World that I plan on converting to look more chaos-like possibly. I will be posting the results here.

Currently I'm open to suggestions of what kind of paint job and what chaos god should I have them follow. I've always been one of those "few" fans of Malal but I'm not a fan of the Sons of Malice paint scheme and I've been having painter's block coming up with a different paint scheme for a Malal/Malice worshipping army. So go ahead and feel free to give suggestions, and when I get started painting, feel free to criticize to your heart's content. Thanks!

May I suggest http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Hakanor%27s_Reavers theyre easy to paint..... with tape I just cut lines in tape and put them on their various armor bitz and blend the lines to look like lava

Okay so sadly, my brother has man handled all the brushes thin enough to do the job of lava armor so I decided to go without will be uploading the raptors in a second.

So here we go, Just got to get some details. This is going to be a pain without any fine or fine-ish detail brushes...

That is a good start and should bring able to make war with a force of that size. Which forgeworld items did you order?

I just ordered some Red Scorpion bits because 1) I dig the Mk IV helmets 2) I'm thinking about going with that they were Red Scorpions that turned on the Codex Astartes completely resulting in them being hunted down by the rest of the chapter. When cornered on a planet, they were approached by a Daemon Prince who offered them a "new chance" for a price, their services to him. They took up his offer and followed him into a gateway into the immaterium.

still working on a name though, thinking something with Requiem in it. How does Requiem Jackals sound?

You have a good foundation for your army, why not use the name 'Warp Jackals' instead or 'Jackals of Requiem'?

Daemon Prince is done! (unless I change my mind again about something...)

So this is what else I've been able to put together, added a Gold Trim to the Raptors.

And ignore the Tau, those are my brother's.

Nice, the face of the aspiring champion looks a bit bright, as do the horns on the Daemon Prince, but nothing that hard to change. Maybe give the horns a devlan mud wash. And the metal on the Prince needs a wash. They do look good though.

Ever heard of highlights, shadows, washes, anything related to painting? These minis have nice conversions but are awfully painted.

For red, 3-4 colours, same for blue. Metal yells for wash, why you don't give it to it?

Hahaha, I'm not done with them, just haven't been well nor had the time due to work.

Probably won't be touching them for a while though, I'm too hyped for Necrons!
