A couple of years ago, my local game store decided to hold a Baneblade modeling contest.
You could modify it any way you wish, it just couldn't end up being a stock Baneblade.
I had always wanted to Ork out a Baneblade, so this was the final impetus to break out the wallet and start work.
I broke out my boxes of Ork bitz that have been collecting on my shelves since 1990, dug some old kits that have been sitting around begging to be used and decided to get to work. My single other purchase was an Ork Battlewagon kit that was designated to be chopped into armour plating and assorted parts for the 'Hamma.
Recipie:
Take a Baneblade
Chop up a Battlewagon kit. (There are some fantastic bitz in this kit.)
Take a cup of Landraider.
And a dash of Basilisk.
Plus the spoils of 20 years of bitz collecting and let's see what we can make.
Automatically Appended Next Post:
First of all, I decided that my 'Big Gun' was going to be fired from an 'open' turret. (Like an old style assault gun.)
So we need to chop this baby into a convertible.
Parts of the 'Big Gun', using an Earthshaker cannon and the barel from an old Tyamia M-110 Howitzer.
That stupid shrine to the toilet sitting corpse that leads the Empire has got to go, so we are gonna make it a back door to the 'Hamma. I'll plate over the top later.
Repairing some old battle damage using a Bassie roadwheel and a spare tire from the wagon.
The Deathrolla.
Had to do a little front end work so the Deathrolla can fit between the front roadwheel bearings.
Looks like Naked Ork approves.
The eventual height of the top armour.
I'm planning on putting some truly massive burnaz on it, so I will be using some of the Landraider as a 'trailer' for holding the fuel tank for them. I'm also going to put a roof over the 'open topped' gun and that's probably where the Grot Bomb Launcha will be.
Just started last night, so that's all I have for now. Updates as they occur.
Automatically Appended Next Post:
Da Big Gun (I've still got to 'bulk it up' a bit.
You're a lot taller than I expected.
Head on. (You Beekies better start running NOW.)
Left side with a new firing port visible.
Rear view. Still have lots of plates and exaust pipes to add.
Right side. Mostly the foamcore 'spacers' keeping it level until the armour plates are added.
Aerial view. (I'll be adding some AA gunz to swat those pesky Thunderhawks.)

Right front view, where the Zapp turret is visible. Rare earth magnets allow it to elevate almost vertical.
Forward view, showing the bow mounted Mega Scorcha.
Left front view. The Twin-twin-linked Scorcha turret can cover the entire left side of the vehicle,
Left side.
Left Rear.
Still incomplete rear end, showing radiator and exaust stack.
Right rear shot showing engine access hatch. I found a great engine model and will be mounting it inside.
A pair of right side shots, showing a better view of the engine access hatch and one of the 'bolt-on' big shoota team.
Another view of the Zapp turret.
A blurry shot of the great engine I found.
If possible, and even MORE blurry shot of said engine. (Trust me, it will look great when it is painted and mounted,)
Automatically Appended Next Post: Most of the pieces have been primed and the first coat of paint has been applied.
This is a ‘dry fitting’ of all the major parts.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Some close ups:
Da big gun. Held together with chains, wire and duct tape.
Da engine gubbins. I’ll be mounting an LED inside so the engine can be seen through the small access hatch.
Left front bumper.
This is what the ‘Hamma and its fuel trailer will look like together.
Here are some close-up shots of the fuel trailer and its pumping mechanism. I still have a lot of bitz and painting highlights to add.
Automatically Appended Next Post: The Deathrolla put together.
Sorry the pics are so blurry, I'm a Mekboy, not a photographer.

Onion article:
Pet Owner Not Bothering To Neuter Loser Cat
July 13, 2009 | Issue 45•29
CORAL SPRINGS, FL—Mike Oakland, 29, told reporters Monday he is not about to pay $100 to have his 5-month-old cat, Mowgli, neutered, because he has no expectations that the dull, paunchy tabby will ever get laid.
Mowgli
"For all he's going to use those balls, he might as well keep them," said Oakland, adding that he'd bet anyone any amount of money that the striped kitten will die a virgin. "He never leaves the house, and I've seen how the neighbor cat looks at him. Completely platonic." When reached for comment, a spokesperson from the Florida Humane Society reiterated that it's important to have all pets spayed or neutered, even ugly lame-o's who probably couldn't score in a roomful of calicos in heat.

I first felt dread and apprehension at early pixs of your cannibalizing a perfectly good Baneblade and Landraider parts for a dubious Ork vehicle project. What I first thought was madness quickly turned into deep admiration for your model making genus!
Brilliant work, Sirrah. Huzzah!

Just goes to show: A good build doesn't need 5 million gubbins, a pound of rust, and 20 colors per square inch. Your scrap-fu is strong.
I have, literally, one criticism - very stark mold lines on the LR trailer's 4 smaller fuel drums. Even with that, it's gorgeous.
