Hey guys, today I decided to start a blog of the progress on my salamander army. I havent actually purchased it yet, I will once (if ever...) my orks get sold.

The Plan

I am going to be purchasing my salamanders in two waves, firstly 2 troops an elite, a heavy and an HQ. And then depending on how that goes I'll see what else I need for support and purchase that.

Here is what I am going to get in the first wave:
-2 tactical Squads
-2 Rhinos
-Assault terminators
-Vulkan
-Land Raider

And now Ill explain what I'm doing with each squad:

Tactical Squads
In these I am gonna have 1 flamer and one melta. The sergeant is gonna look like this:http://crarence.wordpress.com/2010/04/21/how-to-convert-salamanders-clarence-style/ the rest will have forge world shoulder pads, and lava bases. Getting these on ebay.

Rhinos
The rhinos are gonna be just the standard rhino. They will have the chapter house salamander rhino doors, and will be painted with flames. Getting these on Ebay.

Assault Terminators

Land Raider
I bought a Land Raider from my brother and it has 2 lascannon sponsons, and a heavy bolter. Is it worth it? I'm tempted by the land raider redeemer to clear out hordes before my termies charge out of the land raider. I would also be able to magnetize if i got a new kit... so tempting.


And thats all the units! Also from my brother I'm getting a pred or rhino (rhino would make it so I only need one) so I'm probably getting the rhino and the raider. But as I said, is the land raider with lascannons worth it? It will be good for killing my freinds grey knights, but I cant modify it to have other weapons or interchangeable weapons cause its glued.
