greetings!
I don't have many of my models painted up to my liking as of yet, but I have a few. gotta get nice pics taken of them.
one of them I have about 90% complete is Inquisitor Lord Torquemada Coteaz. My friend took some macro shots of him. let me know what you think! I still need to base and flock him. I have custom bases he will be standing on when its all done.
feedback always appreciated. thanks for looking!

Nice, what blend of paints did you use for the rustic armor?

Then, they raised prices on the Orks, and I did not speak out because I did not play Orks.
Then, they raised prices on the Nids, and I did not speak out because I did not play Nids.
Then, they raised prices on the Marines, and there was nobody to speak out for me. |

its a simple black primer, boltgun drybrush with a SLIGHT chainmail highlight with a chestnut inkwash (yea, find that one now LOL)
I wanted it to be aged armor, giving him more the appearance of having been at it for a long time. red capes and robes have always implied royalty or embellishment. so its a common theme among my Greyknights and the inquisition.
I haven't painted some of the finer details yet. had to move a few times recently so when I get settled into my new place i'll pickup my brushes again. I have lots to paint! lots of my pieces were broken in the moves as well, so I will need to do some repair work on most of my models first.
back when the GK first hit the shelves I made myself a GK Grand Master kit-bash and I really don't like how the paint was turning out so its half finished. time to strip him down and start over.
I recently accquired an airbrush as well, so thats going to be interesting. gotta learn how to paint with it.

oh I know, I really need a new camera.
I just have been in the tinker shop working with some new materials, I think I stumbled across an excellent how to article I want to write.
I found a REALLY cheap alternative to citadel paints that work fantastic in the airbrush, and also how to use them to make a simple ink and even an excellent dip.
its worked amazing, and really cheap!

an update of my log (as it was)
I am working on a project for my daughters. I am making their names decorated in large laser cut plywood. just something cute when they come home from vacation too.
So for the letter "I" in my oldest's name, she's really into Rapunzel, so I made the "I" a castle tower and we're going to add some yarn for hair.
how does this tie into warhammer? i'm glad you asked! turns out terrain making skills can also win you points as a cool dad!

I decided that a servo skull should be a human skull, not metal. had to be done.

made some serious progress on my custom GK Grand Master. This was prior to any Grand Master model being made, I used it when the GK's first came out. I tweaked the arm a bit with some of the new plastic parts and finally added the cape. I'm happy with how it turned out. its definitely not what you would call show quality, but I like it.

well, time cures everything right?
Finally got to pick up the brushes again after a while. Tonight was just practice for practice sake. Painted me a box and rusted it up. no pigments used, just regular old paint.
