This is my basic list for WoC, though I am always looking for additions and changes (though I refuse to add in warriors as it goes against my theme)

Just a thought why not just go with the staff of sorcery that makes you plus 5 to cast and dispel and is 35 points cheaper even tho the +6 to cast is really nasty haha.

Just a personal thing no wailing banner for the chosen? causing terror and fear making the eye of the gods a lil more likely for the nice save.

If you do decide to cahnge up the lord I have found the bsb to be bloody effective with either of these 2 builds.

Either of those with a tz unit or khorne unit is nice war machine ward saves and he himself is just nasty and kills things like its no bodies business.

The Chosen have the banner of discilplin because i plunk the general in there for a Ld 9 buble instead of 8 as the unit runs between the two marauder blobs

also as much as i love charmed sheild in the over all game i wold run ironcurse instead, only reason i run the shield is my gamin g groups lack of cannons and the like.

Also when i get +6 to cast i can throw 3 dice at gateway, instead of 4 dice! Also when I have third eye I do enjoy 4 dicing dwellers or transformation.

Still if they cause terror you have a much better chance of getting the good stuff tho and that isnt worth the plus 1 leadership.

The charmed shield is just to get him a cheap +1 to his armor.

Haha oh the shenanigans you can do with magic sadly my regular opponents dont have any fun spells to use so yea :(
I do see your point still give the bsb a shot he is nasty and just messes up a lot of stuff and just so killy.

I like that list, it has character/theme without using over the top cookie cutter units. I would be a little worried about the lack of speed. You have two units of hounds, but is that enough? What do you do with your extra 20 points?

Sorry to sound rude but what is your " THEME "
Nice to see someone using festus. But would think a baby wizard would be better, have him as apprentice to lord. As been said already you might aswell have terror banner on your chosen. with a bsb in army your rerolling all tests and with mauraders at 50 you should always be steadfast. Plus being frenzied the only unit that will take tests are the dogs. Deathstar chosen should pretty much guarantee stubborn.

Don't bother giving the bsb a banner it's a waste of points give him stuff so he can live and kill stuff.

Wailing banner on the chosen and just make em so beast.

My 'theme'

is that I am super cheap and bought two boxes of warriors and use them as Chosen (so my theme is I cant run warriors as it would get confusing)

Festus goes in the marauders to compensate for how slow they are, and for the fact that 41 poison S5 ASL attacks are amazing on a regening unit.
Most of the time I do run the Terror banner just for this build the chosen where added in last, though I supose I could drop a unit of hounds for the banner.
The hounds are just in this list to maybe tie up flaming archers, but mainly because I have the good looking old metal models so I run them

Well, first off the Sorcer Lord costs 415pts, not 315 (though i've counted up the points using your totals, and the extra 100 has been factored into the total, so it's probably just a typo), and the Chosen are actually 375pts, not 380.

Your total is still the same, but the costs might be a bit misleading to some people.

Quick question tho if the shrine gives a blessing the whole unit gets it right? But for the chosen roll at the begging of the game its only the chosen that get it right?

Then I just do a fast push, leaving my school buses behind (warshrines) hitting with my two solid MoT units and letting my lumberjacks feast on the flanks!

So far the only thing stopping me from getting chosen is the matter of when will they be fine cast or plastic.

Well see I built my chosen out of warriors boxes and also I have not found another deathstar that can stand up to a Chosen star yet.

Mine failed a bit last game just charged up and that was that and got beat down.

Usually they do well for me tho

I will try when I post up pics of my high elves on their way to the tournament (going to be posting a battle report every couple days). But I can give you a list of how I built mine.

I took a box of warriors, then began raiding bits boxes and the like for as many unhelmeted chaos heads as I could find, used those and bought 2 boxes of these http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440124a&prodId=prod1570033 . And low n behold a unit of chosen! Also I used to Ogre Bull Banner for their banner as the chaos one is sooo dinky.

You sure about the 50x Marauder blocks? Big blocks like that are a real pain to maneuvre if you have dense terrain on a map.

Dont complain I have mine all primed and 1 guy is done (not amazingly done but table top quality with 6 color woooow).

I have had good luck with mine only blew up the mages once and with puppet my opponent lost a lot of guys and his mages I took one wound on my lord but that was it totally worth it.

I do manage to get the str 10 all around blast that was good times squished a lot of brett knights they were dead real good

The chaos banner is lame well more small than lame.

I used lances from the knights for mine look really really good

If you need more non helmet heads or the skull looking ones I have 5 warrior heads with the horns face and all and 2 skull ones message me if your interested.

Seeing as the marauders go forward without much wheeling and such not too bad from what I have seen.

Yeah but I was thinking like, what if he has to move right into a wood because of the unit size? The wood could turn out to be a blood forest, that wouldn't be too good for a horde really
