Hi there, I am currently working on a lictor, i will be doing it hanging/holding onto a corner/post of a prison with a guardsman walking away with the lictor ready to pounce, now i was thinking of painting it with almost a spotlight shine on either at the side of the model or just fleeting past it, any idea how to do so? i will post pictures once its made, and 2, what about using it for matches i was gonna put it on a monstrous creature base any idea how to model/paint it to have an outline for a medium sized base for a reference for gaming?

moral philosophy goes down the pan with nids..damn I'm conflicted...

Here they are. not greatly painted. i decided to paint the back of the lictor the same colour as the wall so he kind of blends in chameleony a bit, then its colours go a little bolder the further from the wall.

i am not a painter, more a modeller!

How can that Space Marine have an Auspex and not notice that Lictor sneaking up on him?

Space Marines don't get panicky nerves. "They Shall Know no Fear" and all that jazz.

I would suggest mounting on a larger base. Try some 1/4" plywood or MDF board. Currently it looks really crammed onto that 60mm(?) base. With a larger base to sit on, it will look more like a scene then a snapshot. Just my 2 cents

ok thankyou, just i want it as a deathleaper for gaming, i spose it would give me an advantage on a larger base as pheromone trail would take a better effect(i dont game for advantage at all)

Pretty sure lictors come on 40mm bases, Deathleaper too.

Awesome scene though!
Maybe have it so it's base fits into the hole on a larger display?
A large part of Deathleaper is that he can go off the board. Maybe this is where yours goes!

I would use this, if you're up to the task.

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?

i did my other lictor in a better way and the two actually look as if there part of the same scene, i may have to mount them and take pics!, btw thanks for the painting tutorial, but i have no airbrush and i paint to play not for show as much. also i haven't taken pictures of the back of the lictor, its a bit better than the front!

I believe the effect you should be aiming for is like Victoria Lamb's lictor vs guardsman.

holy gak snacks, that thing is amazing! Golden demon winner?

And FuzzAng, if you are making this for playing, your lictor needs to be based on the proper size base, I.E. a 40mm one, not a 60mm one. Yes there is such a thing as modelling for advantage but base sizes is an area where you can't do that. I would suggest what Texas Instrument said; go with a large display base, that the lictor's 40mm base slots into, for when you are not playing with him.

ok , il give it a try

i changed the model slightly by putting plenty of cuts on the marine and made the auspex screen look all smudged with blood and as there's two lictors that close i thought it got rid of the problem of how can he not see it lol.
