I heard that Will Smith has a Chaos Marine Army from some friends of mine as well as rumors that Even Ozzy Osbourne may even play.
Although Embarrassing Celebrity hobbies is kinda hard to find on the internet. Is this true and what other Celebrities play 40k or other game store games?

I know Vin Diesel plays D&D, and there's a very funny interview with him on the subject.
Don't know of any others though...

Robin Williams plays Orks, I've seen photos of him in a GW store as well. Rumor is that he convinced Bill Murray to play Eldar.

I heard he also got Kirsten Dunst into playing WFB. That guy 's a real recruiter!
I've also read that Bruce Willis has the world's largest IG army. If true, that would certainly be awesome.

Considering Bruce Willis' policy towards the military, that army choice doesn't surprise me!

He also plays Blood Angels. I recall some thread on the subject I think at Warseer. He asked the GW in a mall to close so he could have an uninterrupted game, was refused, so bought some Blood Angels assault marines and left.

But, the people who bought stuff there when they reopened would be like:
"I bought stuff from the shop Vin D plays at!"

Short and sweet Custodes are a special Space Marine chapter that guards Terra itself and are supposed to be even more badass then the GKs on thier best day. That said don't know if you count him as a celeb but since he played in the Super Bowl former Panthers Guard Doug Brezinski plays Blood Bowl, and WHFB.

Would you want this to happen to your store?

Not sure if you could say they're celebrities, but in our LGS we have a few Colonels and Generals in the military that play Warhammer (40k and Fantasy), DnD, and eve some MTG players. It's always weird to see them because I'm so low on the rank structure and a General waltzes in asks if I want to play a game. Essentially the guy is my bosses bosses bosses bosses boss...

lol, i wonder how well real life military tactics transfer to warhammer?
those generals would have such an unfair advantage.

I don't think it's an unfair advantage. The guy has spent his life to learn how to manipulate a battlefield. While I doubt most real life tactics will transfer well to tabletop, the basics behind them will.
But apart from Vin Diesel, I don't know of many 'documented' gamer celebs.

Don't forget Brian May, but I think it was more his son than himself, though they did give him a tour of the old GW studio. He even appeared on a few tracks for Warhammer Records (D-Rok I think).

There really isn't much that transfers over due to random dice rolls, and military doctrine works when everything is moving at the same time. The turn based game play fouls up any comparison. Also, from the military on the ground perspective, it's technically easy to control the battlefield from a 40k point of view. You and your enemy see all of your movements and strategies from birds eye.
Even though in the army for instance, we do have the luxury of Aerial surveillance, most decisions on tactics are base on the actions of the ground commander, you can't depend on SIR all the time.
I would equate 40k more to a high speed game of chess.
