Hello people of dakka,

So i finally decided to make a blog for 3 reasons(because rule of 3 )
1) To get through my back log of unpainted models
2) To improve my painting
3) The whole reason i joined dakka was because of all the great P&M blogs i read through, massive inspiration!

I've got my work cut out for me it seems

I'm currently working on a plathera of things, as i get bored of one model, so i jump around a bit.
For readers sake i'll try and keep the updates in order of models however.

So here's a bunch of things i'm working on atm, C+C is very appreciated as i would also like to improve my painting and modelling.

Good to see you've started your blog. Looks like you've got enough unassembled mini's to keep you busy for some time

Looks like your paining is pretty neat - but looks like your weakest point is painting over black with lighter colours (yellow in DA's head piece and red on eye lenses). One great way I've found of getting over this is to paint the areas with Dheneb stone first, and then going over with the yellow/red/insert lighter colour here.

Also I find with the yellow, washing devlan mud into the recesses and then highlighting again with yellow gives it a bit more depth.

Liking the conversions - your chaos marines... weapon... looks really nasty! nice work

Really looking forward to seeing more pics (especially of the guardians) so I can start concepting the paintwork for our trade

Thanks for the tip, I tried the next few with iyanden yellow as a base then i'll highlight it with golden yellow and wash it back with gryphonne sepia.

As for the avengers they're on hold for now, i'm re doing my guardians for the local tournament Ball and Chain thats coming up, so in an attempt to gain painting points i'm spicing them up from table top standards to hopefully something a little better.

Since the Guardians are getting an upgrade, so is my Autarch (as long as i'm ahead of my Tourney painting schedule)
He was painted quite a while ago here's a pic of him before any touching up


And as an extra bonus this week, i'm throwing in a terrain piece i made, it was inspired by madmartykmf cities of death terrain thread, which is full of amazing terrain pieces.
It's only a little one and it's still a WIP got the silver and the back of a couple of walls to finish off and i'll add more snow so it's not as patchy. Enjoy

I'm really enjoying how your Stegadon's looking. I have one of my own still in its box that I haven't even opened yet.

I have to be a nag here and say that I see a few mold lines here and there, especially on your Avengers' legs. Keep an eye out for those eh.

Thanks, i need to work on the horns a bit however, and i have no idea what spot colour i should use on the howdah.

Ah that's not nagging at all, i want to progress my painting and modeling. Thank you for pointing them out, i'll be sure to catch them next time
