Just got back from the Finals tournament there, great place (it was held at Fantasy Flight Games). The tournament was actually kinda smalll for what I expected at a finals, there as 11 people. Also a good spread of armies, there was 2 Skaven, 1 Orc and Goblin, 3 Demons, 1 Bretonnian. 1 Dark Elf, 1 High Elf, 1 Ogre Kingdoms, and 1 Lizardmen present. I played one of the demon armies. I can't account for everyones games and details but I can share a little bit about mine. This will be by no means detailed, I just got home from the 12 hour drive.
First game was against Lizardmen. It was somewhat tough due to the setup (dawn attack) and that 2 really good casters were facing off against one another, objective was to take the middle Idol of Gork, or possibly Mork. By the end of this I barely held the objective by having a demonette block holding it, but our armies were so beat by that point I was only able to get a minor victory.
Second game was against Skaven. Had 3 HPAs, Furnace, lots of gutter runners and more slaves than I ever wanted to deal with. This was the Ale senario, I kinda ignored the fact that there was ale on the table and went for pure muder. We got a point for every unit to destoried and I figured that was my best shot. I pulled the massacre off on this one.
Last game was against Bretonnians. Nice guy, nice looking army but I had a well placed, high strength and lots of hit rolled comet go off right besid his 4 trebuchets, archers and 1 block of knights and that was just a bad start, I had to work my way across but eventually pegged the knights down to a lord and a few stragglers. I only managed to get a major victory due to 1 knight of a large unit running and me losing one of my demonette and flamer blocks.
I placed 1st with my demons, second went to a skaven player, third I believe went to the Dark Elf player, it was going to be the bretonnian player but I think there was a point issue. Anyways, hope this gave people a little idea of how things went!
Overall great tournament, great place, wished it was more centralized in the US instead of so far north
