Today I played my first game of Fantasy ever! I played Skaven and my friend played Ogres, in which it was his first game. My list looks like this (I don't have my book with me, so I forgot a few wargear names)
Warlord- Warlock Enhanced Blade, Blighted Shield (reduces my opponents attacks), Portents of Verminous Doom
Warlock Engineer- Level 2 Wizard, Warp Lightening Upgrade, Doom Rocket
Clanrats x20, Shields, Spears, Full Command, Poisoned Wind Launcher
Clanrats x20, Shields, Full Command, Warpfire Thrower
Plague Monks x24, Full Command, Standard of Dripping Doom
Warp Lightening Cannon
He had (from the best I can remember)
Tyrant with some Wargear
Butcher/Slaughtermaster
Bulls x6
Bulls x6
Ironguts x3
Turn 1: He goes first, and just moves his guys up 6. He has his Magic Casting Ogre with the six front bulls, and six bulls behind them. At a diagonal to them is the Ironguts with the choppy Character. For magic he tries to give some guys toughness 5, but I dispel it. Then he gives his front squad Strength 5.
My turn! I move my Clanrats and Plague Monks forward, then move onto magic. My Warlock Engineer had two spells, Death Frenzy and Warp Lightening. Both were dispelled. Shooting! My Poisoned Wind Weapon team fired at the group of three Ogres with casting bro, putting on three wounds with some fantastic rolling. One Ogre down! Warp Lightening Cannon herps and derps, getting a two with the second artillery die.
Turn 2: He charges with this group of frontal Ogres, but comes one inch short of range. He putts five inches forward. He moves his other guys forward 6. He tries to give his front group toughness five, but I dispel it. He then gives his Iron Guts Magic Resist 2.
My part. I charge forwards with my Plague Monks (The Warlord is with them) into his frontal group. Clanrats with Spears move forwards 6, clanrats with Warlock Engineer shuffle forward 3. Magic phase: I rolled a three and a one for my power dice, which was my highest amount all game so far. I try to give my Plague Monks Death Frenzy, but it was dispelled. Bad rolling puts one wound on the other Bull Squad with Warp Lightening. Then we move to combat. I pop my Banner on the Plague Monks, which lets me reroll all fail to hit and wound. I was in a 5 wide formation, which as far as I know, Two hand weapons and frenzy gave the front four monks twelve attacks, then I got five supporting attacks. I all-star dominated them before they even got to strike back, then massacred into the squad behind them, killing all but two, and one of them had one wound left. He killed two Plague Monks, then lost combat but stayed. He honorably conceded.
There goes my first game of fantasy and first battle report. Both of us are new to Fantasy so we both didn't really know what we were doing. The lack of charge on his bulls really punished him, as seen by my plague monks. Overall we both had fun and more importantly learned how to play Warhammer Fantasy.
