So I have been noticing over the years that I've been having to use all sorts of methods to get my Models to glue together especially the more 'interesting' models, so I decided to take a picture of my works in progress and the interesting ways I get the glue to hold.
Feel free to Post your own or leave me some comments!

For super glue, sprinkle on baking soda. Dries fast and rock hard. Sand away bumps. Also works as a gap filler.

This is why you need to pin your models.

I agree, I Pinned the Arms on the Flamers, but those lil nubs hate staying on, so finally we pulled out some JB weld and wrapped em up in rubber bands, since it takes 12 hours for the JB weld to set. wasn't untill recently though I got my pinning tool and i've been SO happy with it.

Super glue, Super Glue Accelerator and brass rod pins for about 90% of the work.
For odd shapes I use a 1 minute or 5 min epoxy and hold the pieces together.
I never really have issues or the need to hold something together.
A glue w/ a 24 hour set time is just uneccesary in minature assembly. You are doing something wrong.

I agree. What kinda glue are you using that you need to rubber band everything like you do?
Metal models for sure need to be pinned. Not just to build it, but to make sure it stays together after you have built it. I don't know abouyt you but I don't want to paint a model and then have it fall apart the first time it hits the table.

I just support the limb with a peice of plastic or something. If it is metal then I use fast drying super glue, and some green stuff. Works like magic.

Pinned using lil brass rods, and JB welded together, the JB weld when dry never ever breaks. The arms on the Flamers of zentch where pinned but still drooping so I broke out the ruber bands. Automatically Appended Next Post: Plus who hasn't wanted to put suspenders on a Hive Tyrant XP

Neither does a properly mixed 5 minute epoxy.

This is what makes me think you are doing something in correctly. A properly placed pin can almost support the weight of a Flamer arm. Unless you are talking the rotational axis.
What are you using for a what size bit? What size brass rod?

The JB weld was allready on hand so didn't need to buy any thing. (poor) and the brass rods are lil bitz that are left over from my wife's Chaos Demon army that she is pimping out with brass symbols. (again poor) so really it's just what ever I have laying around. after 10 years of modeling I FINALLY got a pinning tool so I've been pinning every thing I can lol but I just wanted to show some pictures of the methods I used to set glue when something is being stubborn. I haven't had to break out the rubber bands and toothpicks in a long time.
What is the name of the Epoxy you use so I can see how much it is, with any luck I can pick it up next time im in town.

Using super glue on GS is a very bad idea. The problem is the green stuff never dries in the inside. I had a friend that did this and after a year the green stuff was still not dry. Just FYI!
