Today a new guy showed up and asked to throw down; I obliged! Seeing as I need more practice, I grabbed my
DE to have a go against my chaos foes.... The lists:

So, a fluffy Red Corsairs army; and it looks spiffy! Hes got an interesting tactic; get close, drop in daemons for support, and gang beat stuff. Should be interesting!

He deploys all his vehicles in a line on my left, havoks in the forest. He deploys his foot squad in a line behind the hill on my right.
The pic doesn't show it (I took it early
lol) but he actually turns the vehicles to the side.
I roll +1 Attack for my drugs.
He rolls to seize and fails... Turn 1!
Pre Game Analysis
So, his army might not be the hardest thing, but deep striking daemons that will land where and when he needs them can really hurt. Wyches power lies in the ability to pick and choose what they fight; so if I get locked into a prolonged combat I WILL lose when those daemons come in. They have 30 attacks on the charge, and even tho I go first, I'll have a hard ass time hurting them.... So my plan is to take out that pred and havoks quickly, then the rhinos, and then charge at least 2 wych squads into the
PM's. The
CSM's won't be nearly as hard to kill.
Dark Eldar Turn 1
Movement: I spread out; 3 wych squads in the middle and 2 (archon group + 1 other) turbo up the right side aiming for his back
CSM's.
Shooting: My ravagers wreck his predator. My venoms kill 3 havoks and the others fall back, just short of the table edge. I stun the far left rhino and shake the far right rhino.

Movement: His havoks rally and stay where they are; they can still shoot my stuff. His middle rhino moves up 6" ready to throw down melta pain. His foot
CSM's get up on the hill they're near. His shaken rhino flat outs and pops smoke.
Shooting: Nothing big really, he wrecks my archons raider.

Things are going as planned; his right side
PM's are in the PERFECT spot to get charged by 2 wych groups. His foot marines will easily die from the archons group. Time to destroy!
Dark Eldar Turn 2
Movement: My left side raider and venom move up, my trueborn hopping out behind cover. My wyches on foot now move toward the
PM rhino on the right, my other wyches get out as well. My archons raider moves 12" and they get out with malice in their eyes! My speedervenom drops out his trueborn and skirts around the hill. Ravagers stay in back.
Shooting: I start by wrecking the leftside
PM rhino. I follow up by wrecking Hurons rhino as well. I then explode the
PM rhino on the right; nobody is killed. PERFECT! Now everythings on foot

My venoms pot shot stuff but he makes all his armor/
FNP saves.
Assault: Archon + crew wreck house on the
CSM squad and consolidate into a line on the hill (I only got 1"

. I assault 14 wyches + 1 haemi into his 10
PM's on the right.... result? I do 0 agonizer wounds (hit 8 times, 0 wounds), he makes all his sarmor/
fnp saves, and then... he demolishes one wych squad, leaving 1 guy left. Both squads break and run for it. He consolidates after me to keep me running.

Chaos Turn 2
Movement: 1 squad of Lessers come in; they land off his
PM icon that are following my wyches. His left side
PM's move up. Huron and crew line up for a side flamer and a bunch o' stuff on my archon and his buddies. His havoks stay put.
Shooting: Huron and his guys rapid fire and heavy flamer my archons group. Result? I make something like 12
FNP saves + 2 2+ invuns and only lose 2 wyches. His havoks then jump in with shots from their heavy bolters. Again, the dice gods love me and I don't lose a single wych. This is making up for the failed
PM assault! His
PM's on the right shoot at my raider I forgot to move, stunning it. His left side
PM's are gonna try charging my trueborn so opt not to shoot.
Assault: His lesser daemons rape my trueborn and fail to hurt my venom. His
PM's charge and rape my trueborn, fail to hurt my raider.
Dark Eldar 5 - Chaos 3
End of turn thoughts
Wow... just wow. Things are going downhill quickly! I should have at LEAST stuck with the
PM's when I charged them, not gotten ran off! ugh. This turn I'm going to venom the hell out of those lessers, throw some lances at the
PM's, and get a venom in line to shoot his havoks. The archon and crew should be able to take out Huron and his posse.
Dark Eldar Turn 3
Movement: My army scoots away from his. Both wych squads keep running. I get out my last squad on the right to charge the
PM's again, hopefully tying them up a few turns.
Shooting: So, get ready for the
SS failboat! SO, I shoot 2 venoms (24 shots) into his lessers. Result? I do about 8 wounds total and he saves 3 or 4 of them. Ok, so I shoot all the retreating wych pistols at them too. Result? I kill maybe 1 more. OK! So I shoot all 3 ravagers and all my raiders at them too! Result? 1 LESSER DEMON LIVES!!!!!!!! ARRRRGGGGGGG! Bastard! Hes gonna keep all those wyches running at least 1 more turn >< Other than that I have 1 venom left to shoot and it kills 1 havok.
Assault: My wyches assault his
PM's again... result? I kill 1, and he kills 3 wyches and they break... *sigh* I run only 3 inches tho. He consolidates toward my raider. My archon and crew charge huron and his crew. I manage 1 wound on huron with my huskblade and he fails, giving me
str 6! BWA HAHA FINALLY! This is the first time this has happened in the 4 or 5 games I've been playing him >.> The rest of my stuff kills 2 or 3 marines and he kills 2 wyches, and he lock in.
Dark Eldar 6 - Chaos 3
Chaos Turn 3
Movement: His other lessers come in. He drops them nearby the archons combat, ready to reinforce his marines. His
PM's on the left move into the forest. The ones on the right move toward mhy raider summore. His remaining lesser keeps following my wyches.
Shooting: His left side
PM's manage to wreck my left side raider. I pass pinning. His right side
PM's shoot up my raider there, only managing to immobilize it. His havoks plink my venom for no damage.
Assault: His lessers charge into my archon and crew. Result? I lose all but my haemi and archon and
PW wych. He loses all but 2 marines. After fearless saves he has like 5 daemons and 2 marines left. His
PM's charge my raider, punch it twice, and I make 2
FF saves! woot!
Dark Eldar 6 - Chaos 4
End of turn thoughts
Man, I used up all my dice luck for the
DE during my practice game! I'm pretty much on the ropes now; if those wyches run off, I'll HAVE to table him to get the win most likely :(
Dark Eldar Turn 4
Movement: my 1 man wych squad runs off the table. My haemi wych squad flees within 5" of the table edge; so close! My other wyches like the
PM's and only flee 3" again. I shuffle around for lots and lots and lots and lots of dark lances at his
PM's.
Shooting: It takes 2 venoms, 3 ravagers, my fleeing wyches, and 2 raiders, but I kill off all his
PM's on the right. I also have to shoot a dark lance and a squad of wyches at that last daemon to kill the damn thing. I kill 1 more havok in the back.
Assault: I lose my haemi and last wych. he loses his last 2 marines and a couple daemons, and makes his fearless. The archon also fails his 2+ but
FNP saves the wound.

Chaos Turn 4 - DE turn 5
The rest of the game is pretty one sided:
-on the chaos turn, he shoots my closest wyches down to 2 guys, preventing them for rallying for a
KP. His
GD also comes in and can't get to anything.
- The archon kills the rest of the lesser daemons, and the next turn kills the havoks.
- Venom fire kills the
GD off easily.
- I fire all my dark lances, wyches, and last venom, and barely manage to kill his remaining
PM squad for a table.
VICTORY FOR THE DARK ELDAR!!!!
End of game thoughts
Wow! That was a rough game. The luck of the dice was definitely against me; out of a total of about 25 agonizer attacks only 2 wounded all game, all my venoms would hit 9 times on average, and then only wound 2 or 3 times at best, there was even 1 turn there (when I was shooting the lessers) where over half my dark lances missed their marks!
But in the end I prevailed, even though it looked grim there for a few. I learned wyches have a very rough time against
PM's, while
PM's have a field day with wyches. Not getting the charge bonus and needing 6's to wound was not fun :( My opponent was an amazing guy and I had a blast playing him! I'm super happy I got to play his Death Guard in another battle as well!
