This is part of the Greyknight monthly project on SWC. I've just completed July with 8 days to spare!

Here is my Dreadknight. Such a large piece meant my blending had to be really good otherwise it would show up really badly in the pictures with my new DSLR. The Nemesis Great sword blade was done by hand and took 5 hours.

I hate painting metals, and I choose Grey Knights because of that. This model has 4 different kinds of metals on it. The blue steel armour, the tin bitz skeletal frame, the gun metal and the gold. It's really allowed me to concentrate on painting metals.

Just... Wow!

I love the blending on the shin-armor of the DK. And the sword is also quite amazing.

Did you wash the silver metals with mordian blue or just a blue glaze?

Gareth, the model is amazing. Finished models should go in the the showcase forum, however. This forum is mostly for for questions.

Too bad the swarmlords gonna kill it >__> But that is amazing. I want to play GK next, but your comment about metals made me shudder- I hate metal and have little painting experience.

That's some lovely work, right there. Beautiful contrasts with the different metals.

I'm shifting this over to the showcase, where it belongs

Very nice.

Only small improvements could be made on the Red gun casing and some of the metal shading.

Also, if you are feeling adventurous, picking out the shining highlights on the IMPERATOR and DAEMONICA on the sword would finish the affect, as it appears that were glazed over when doing the blade, but never revisited to pick out the highlights. It just makes the sword look unfinished.

I'ts blue wash mixed in with silver and then highlighted up to silver. I then line it with a dark blue/black mix.

Beautiful model.

The scale shots.. something just screams "epic" at me about them.. the paint jobs are just so convincing and realistic - in other words, that's the kind of thing I'd expect to see at a GD. Not that I ever have or ever will attend one, but you know what I'm saying.

I can sum that model up in one word.. indomitable. Great work, you've created a truly masterful piece here.

Why hello there, beautiful, what are you doing Saturday night? If you're not too busy slaying daemons in the warp I'd like to take you to dinner.

That is a very good looking Dreadknight. I'm sincerely impressed. Your shading is excellent and that sword is incredible. My only qualm is that the snow is a bit monotonous and could use some kind of tonal variety or space to break it up a little bit. I have limited experience with snow flock so I'm guessing this would be pretty difficult. Either way, fantastic work.
