Hello,

As a Space Marine Player who just bought the Battleforce, it comes with a 10 man tac squad and a 5 man combat squad. According to the codex, a combat squad is 90 pts and the tac squad is 170 due to the addition of 5 more SMs. It says in the codex that a squad starts with 4 Space Marines and a sergeant. So Im assuming that for those 15 marines in the battleforce i get 2 sergeants? Its just confusing because combat squads are never shown with a sergeant anywhere. Sorry that it might seem like a stupid question but im just a little confused.

Thank you, Max

A sergeant has a bolter as standard equipment. The combat squad box doesn't have any of the additional upgrades for the sergeant but the tac squad sprues will have extra sergeant bits

If you buy another combat squad box you could use the extra tac squad weapons to get another tac squad with upgrades.

The combat squad has a sergeant but because his equipment is the same you dont notice.

Yeah and since you bought the battleforce you could easily make different combinations of sergeants using the tac, assault, and combat squad sprues.

Or you could play BT and not worry about the Sergeants gear.
But seriously between the assault sprue and the tact sprue you should be fine in making an additional sergeant.

Alternately, if you just want your sergeant to have a bolter like everyone else, you can always just paint a little laurel around his dome.

Or you could paint his helmet red, as per Codex Astartes.

Its either red or white for strictly codex followers.

a different colored helmet is fine. any color is acceptable. my chapter's color for that is silver(although that still fits the definition of White for heraldric purposes)
