Are War Beasts the same as War Machine's? Sorry if this is a noob question... If not what's the difference?

Not the same. Warmachines = cannons, stone throwers, etc. Warbeasts = chaos hounds, dire wolves, etc.

Troop types starts on pg. 80 of the BRB.

On the perfumed wind

A really good section to get familiar with. I found understanding that section to be a great boost for getting a grasp on 8th.

Edit: And I should say- Warmachines are quite different than all the other types. Probably the troop type it took me longest to get right, despite including them in every list I've played in 8th.
