So im considering buying a 3rd edition space wolves battleforce (for the old models mostly) and im interested in the rhino mostly, although I would like to know if anybody knows or has any pictures of the old school rhino sprue. Thanks for the help!

Which color, there's a grey one and a whitish yellow one. I (may) have pictures of a grey one in an archive. But my only whitey is still in cellophane, and is probably going to stay there.

If it's the original rhino, they're the same basic kit. GW just changed plastics quite a few times in the early days before settling on Grey. and even then it's changed a couple of times)

RTB01 Plastic Marines came in Blue, Green and the same "Bone" colour, depending on the batch.

Best I can do you for is the accesories sprue...i think. I can only spot my 3ed stuff in the crowd because its white, or cant because its red.

Thanks btw; although Im slightly sad at the fact that there is no marine :/

@SRM: The one in the store which im planning on buying from has an old one which comes with an old school rhino, so....unless they would have made the picture using an old one, im pretty sure its the old one.

I could be wrong but I think this is just the Imperial upgrade sprue. If there is a techmarine he is probably on the tank sprue itself. But for the life of me I can't remember.

Actually I think this is an imperial upgrade sprue....I think I see a heavy flamer on the right

Yeah that's the generic Imperial one, but there's little else in the kit other than what you see on the built models. If your wanting a Rhino that looks like the old ones then why not buy a new one (and get one that's slightly more appropriately scaled) and use the Chapterhouse Studios Mk1 Rhino Conversion Kit? =)

The original rhino kit did not come with crew of any kind (they were available in metal, in a blister, separately for SM).

Two sets of TWO identical sprues per tank (from memory). (Edit).
Each sprue had half of the hull, one track unit (two part),a single side hatch, large angled hatch/ramp, single door, one domed cupola hatch, one flat hatch, one light strip, one set headlights, one bolter, one railing, one dozer blade, one banner pole, two exhaust manifolds and one large (top) hatch.

chromedog is correct, one sprue effectively made one track unit and half the hull, two together made a whole rhino. I have several of these rhinos, but all assembled, not still on the sprue.

It's a pretty basic model, but still looks fine (except for the crappy little bolters which can be easily replaced), and can easily be super-detailed (e.g. with more recent SM vehicle accessories).

So I was actually browsing Craigslist this morning for warhammer and came across this guy's moving sale. This is part of an old predator kit. I bought my rhino's back in 2nd but this looks near complete... Take a look at the other pics in the guys gallery, it has the complete predator spread out if something is missed here.

Thanks Nowoo, yes, that's the contents of the old rhino kit - two of two different sprues (not one as I wrongly said above), together making one complete rhino.

There is a guy in the dakka trade section who I know has a bunch of oop space wolf models. Wolfen, rhinos, you name it.

Look up Rush0312, I'll vouch for him as being a great guy.

That accessories sprue originally came only with the IG tanks - they may have later included it with Rhinos or Predators, etc, but it wasn't part of the kit originally.

I don't recall it coming w/ the rhino but it DID come w/ the MKII predator annihilator at least as well as all IG tanks. Also IIRC when the rhino was originally released in Rogue Trader it was available for both SM & IG armies & that's why it doesn't have anything SM -OR- IG specific on it's sprue.

Oh & Blitza, that Battleforce is PROBABLY the 2nd Ed Space Wolves boxed army w/ Ragnar, Ulrik (Wolf Priest w/ wolf skull helmet), Njal (Rune Priest w/ bird), Bjorn (dreadnought), 10 Grey Hunters, 10 Blood Claws, 5 Long Fangs w/ one-handed shoulder mounted heavy weapons, 5 odd looking little scouts w/ knives & blocky bolt pistols & a heavy bolter w/ a metal sgt w/ a mohawk, a rhino & a wolf guard on foot.

Sound about right?
