I've not posted in here before I usually leave my finished work in my P&M blog, but I really wanted to show everyone my dreadnought I just finished.

Here's the pics hope you like it.

I love your red, its very dark and menacing, generally nice lightning effect, however on thefeet and skulls your last highlight looks abit chalky, yhis may have been what you were trying to achieve, but i personally dislike it. Overall brilliant, is he supposed to be mid-heresy? That khorne mark looks hastily added!

Thanks the skulls and feet didn't quite come out in the pics as they look in real life.

Yeah he's supposed to mid heresy, the Khorne mark I wanted to make it look like it had been scratched into the dread itself and feel really dirty.

Seconded!

Oh and by the way, is this a one off piece? Or a part of an army, because I would love to see it, if there is one!

I've been looking at the mark closer, perhaps it would look cooler if you added a water effect style red into it, to create a blood effect, just to help draw the eye, as its a great detail which might be missed. I have no real idea how you would achieve this though.

The Red Is Vallejo Heavy Red

To get to the colour on the dread I painted it like this

Undercoat coat Army Painter Black
Base coat mix of 75% Vallejo Black 25% Heavy Red
Then paint over again leaving space around the rivets a mix of 25% Vallejo Black 75% Heavy Red
Then a few layers of watered down coats of Heavy Red in the highlighted areas.
Then paint the extreme areas pure Heavy Red, also used on knee pads.
Then wash in GW Baal Red

model collector this is the first mini for a small World Eaters force I'm working on for November. still to go 16 Berserkers, 2 Rhinos, 1 Obiliterator (one already done) and a Flawless Host sorcerer. All my Chaos stuff (all four powers and more) can be found in my Thousand Sons blog in my signature.

I'll have a think about what to do to bring the Khorne symbol out, did you notice the one on his left leg as well
