Halbreds fail fear check, Scorp kills 1, halbreds inflict 1 wound, scorp auto dies due to unstable //Seriously? A s5 t5 monster automatically dies due to unstable facing a cheap 20 block of fodder?

Tries to do a 20 inch charge with the knights, claims he has a standard that gives him +1d6 charge range, rolls 4d6. When i point out the empire steel standard is 1d3, he says its from the main rulebook. When i point out no such standard exists, he decides to use the +d3 standard from the empire book. I tell him to roll it seperately, he fails to charge and ragequits.

Comments :

Terrible game, terrible player. At least gave me a chance to test a ambusher heavy list. Funny, this is the 3rd time ive played a european with bad english whom tried to pull stunts on me...

First turn IF pretty much screwed me over.

Skeletons out of position didnt help much.

His wizard lord was surprisingly resistant against ranged fire...although i just realised his setup was illegal (4+ ward, armor of tarkus AND rod of power is over 100 pts)

I dont know what scorps are for when a 20 man halbredier unit auto kills it due to unstable rule.

I dont know what necropolis knights are for when a 20 man halbredier unit tarpits it for 2 combat phases.

Catapault was worthless.

Im not sure where else to go with this list...neither scorps nor knights seem to provide enough killing power.

Nice battle report to bad about the player though. He will learn one day to never quit on a game of Warhammer till your last man is dead ........Well I hope

Yeah, shame about the player, and the first turn IF, OUCH!

One thing Question, its halberd, not halbred (not being offensive, it just niggles at me like a loose tooth for some reason, sorry).

About scorpions/knights:

a buddy of mine has been running a heavy ambush list since the new book came out and I have noticed that scorpions=eagles in the sense that they are good at taking out small flanking units/harassers, warmachine crews, and lone wizards, they really do not belong in combat with full rank and file with high natural combat res.

The knights should be treated like the above (if you want solo targets) or fighting other small elite groups/Calvary. Also, he has had success flank charging with them ala chariots or any other Calvary/monstrous Calvary in the game.

edit to add: he has also run knights and warsphinx/collossus in pairs before and a combo charge from them can be devastating!
