Every Dakkanaught gets a 4+ Pinch of Salt save.
When you suffer a Falling Sky hit, roll a D6 - on a 4+ the hit is ignored as per the Pinch of Salt save. On a 1-3 panic insues - you automatically fail common sense tests for the next 2 weeks and get +7 to your negativity stat. -Praxiss

They wanted to distinguish them from WHFB Orcs, notice how the Elves are Eldar and the Ogres are Ogryns and the Dwarves were Squats. Only thing that was kept consistent was Chaos, as originally the WHFB world was meant to be in the Eye of Terror.

Why does the leader of that group have multiple breasts? Slanneshi Ork?
I think Orcs are based on a multitude of different living creatures and cultures, pigs maybe because their so filithy.

And Orcs were taken from European folk tales and legends. Nothing in fantasy or sci fi is truly original.

In the Tolkien universe, orcs have always been a pig/human type race. GW and Warcraft made the greenskin/monster type popular.

Calling overweight people (Hurley) pigs, as you seem to be doing, is not very nice.

You're mixing up Dungeons and Dragons with Tolkien. The classic D&D orcs were Ms. Piggy type pig-snouted peoples, although their design has been gradually shifting away from that since at least second edition.

I know they are debased Elves, not saying anything about that. But they are described as having pig like features. Automatically Appended Next Post: OK, maybe I'm wrong, can't find a good Tolkien source right now. But then what do Tolkien orcs look like eh? Book wise, obviously.

From Tolkien, a philologist (someone who studied historical languages) in his life both before and during his becoming a novelist:
"I originally took the word from Old English orc (Beowulf 112 orc-neas and the gloss orc = þyrs ('ogre'), heldeofol ('hell-devil')).
[...]
"The word used in translation of Q urko, S orch is Orc. But that is because of the similarity of the ancient English word orc, 'evil spirit or bogey'
[...]
"Orc I derived from Anglo-Saxon, a word meaning demon, usually supposed to be derived from the Latin Orcus – Hell.
Later on, Tolkien decided he liked the Ork spelling better than the Orc one, because people kept using the S sound of C (as in the first C of "circus") instead of the flat "k" sound (as in the second C of "circus"), thus pronouncing it Ors instead of Ork.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.
