Hello

resonantly I wanted to start a campaign with its own experimental rules for 40k and I loved drawing, art and design so I decided to try make a "cover page" for my campaign but more fan art than that . Here is what I have done so and far help needed on proportion. I hope to get some positive criticism and the campaign should be done by next week sometime hopefully.

I am not too sure on what Chapter I am going to do though... I can't decided on Blood Angel, Ultramarine, or Shadow Legion.

and this is what I have been working on for some time now.

The big Marine needs some work on his fingers. The fingers on the bolter are too uniform, and not thick enough (they also don't come out far enough from the bolter) while the ones on the outstretched hand just like they've been broken.

I know, I am not very good with fingers thats why I am taking by time with them. But looking at them again... they do look kinda broken. Once I have gotten them to look good then I'll go over them in pen.

Those proportions are really wack. The bolter is positively tiny, the shoulderpads are tiny, and the helmet is comparatively huge. The foreshortening is okay on that arm, but the hand is really wonky. Get some reference pictures for your pose. If that means putting your camera on a timer and taking a picture of yourself making that pose, then go for it. Your linework is pretty good, but you've got to get the basics down - the poses. proportions, and construction down - before you even think of inking.

Does a marine asking for anything?

more grenades?
or more teenie boys for recruits?

one more details you've missed. A skull motif placed on his cuirass usually has wings. it appears that he's loyalist so he needs mark of loyalty to distinguish him and his Chaos foes.

some of the chests don't come with the wings, even in the tactical box I see just the plain skull

@ Brother SRM: what I am going too do is increase the size of the left hand shoulder pad to try draw eyes away from the right hand one which now pointed out is too small. With the small Bolter what I am going to do is reduce and fix the size of the fingers to try make the bolter look bigger.

@ Lone Cat: the marine is holding out his hand to a downed marine/guardsmen/other friendly to pick him back up. the shot is taken as if you were the down friendly.

so he's goin' to rescue a wounded fellas? (anyone belong to the Emperor) right?
the Bolter size is just ok except its lenght. if you're stick to the realism scale rather than tabletop representations =^.^=

Right after about a month of drawing that other out of perspective Drawing of Space Marines I decided that I should start drawing some other things to practice for some new Space Marine drawings. the Drawings which you are about to see are cool. the one Titled 'looking back into Hell' I worked on details that involved movement and distance. the other one Powered Amoured Knight, ( or PAKman ) I worked on Proportions, motion and textures. And the final pic was a practice Space Marine pic that I decided on Drawing cause I had no homework and first 2 seasons of Adventure time... what... but any case Constructive Critisem and please give me Ideas on what to draw for my Final Drawing with Bad Space Marines Slaying Orks/Choas/eldar/nids/other.

Practice Space Marine drawing


As you can see this is Not my best work of art, (please see above) but I like it as half hour job.

Wow these looks really good! Yeah maybe the proportions are a little off here and there in the first one but it still looks awesome! I really do love the CSM! I even opened him in a new tab to zoom in and soak up all the details! In the practice SM pic, the proportions look much more accurate. The only thing I MIGHT nit pick at would just be the legs look a little big, but that is just nit picking. It look great especially for it being done it such a short time span!

Well I think quick replies are always in order seeing as there are always tons of people online and the reason people post stuff is for critique, but as I said: all these pictures look amazing! I really do like the picture of the Marine reaching to help a downed comrade. It could also be made into something like a propaganda poster with the reaching marine being in more of a "Come with me" sense than a "Here, come on get up" feel to him. Just a thought Keep up the good work!

I am going to add colour but I might consider scanning it too a computer than Colouring on Gimp or my bro's Photoshop
