I'm starting the 2nd Company for the Blood Ravens, it's going to be a in the era after DoW2. So no Chief Librarians/Chapter Master...
I'm using Cato Sicarius for my 2nd Company captain, I'm still in the process of deciding how I'm going to equip the command squad that is going to accompany my Captain. I want to use mainly dismounted infantry for my force with range combat being the primary means of battle.

Units I have so far:

1 Captain (Sicarius)
1 Termie Chaplain
1 PA Chaplain
1 Command squad
1 5-man Terminator Squad
2 Dreadnoughts
3 10-man Tactical Squads
15 Scouts
1 10-man assualt squad

My Captain:

Hmm, nice start but when you say range combat, do you mean shooting?

I only ask cause you've got Chaplains, termies, assault marines and walkers which are all decent close combat units!

Yeah I do mean shooting, I want a balanced force. Space Marines are not joke in close combat given the unit, but I don't want it to be the primary focus. The dreadnoughts are armed for more shooting warfare that CC. And like you said all of these units are decent, not the best at it...

Damn you SW and BA...

Yeah, damn you BA (Don't read my sig! )

I always sort of over look the shooting phase, I just run/jump around the place and generally if i'm not already in combat, one of my other units is so I can't shoot anyway!

Any plans for tanks and/or devastator squads?

I saw it, I actually clicked on it yesterday.

Yes plans are for devastator squads, mainly are going to be used for anti-tank. Tactical squads are going to have the anti-horde/infantry loadouts. I'm going to Lascannons and Missile launcher splits in the devastator squads, just in-case I get challenged with green-tides and blob armies.

Oh, in addition I have 10 sword brethern models and 10 DA veteran models I don't know what to do with. Vanguard squads maybe?

OMG, my one is modelled IDENTICALLY, the only exception is that he has a combi-melta not a PP. Same head, same pose, same everything. Can you show both shoulders please?

Hmm, well a fully power weapon equipted jump pack wearing vanguard will certainly dish out the punishment (but costly in pts), but i've had rather good results from my sternguard squad. The special ammo is nice and put in a melta combi or two and you've got that extra punch if need be. But you've got plenty of models so why not both!

I'm at work right now but the left shoulder is the eagle thing and the right is the iron cross if I'm not mistaken.

Not sure about the Iron Cross, but I have the eagle thing on my left too. I use that as the chapter bade when I can, and base my freehand on the design.

My right shoulder is the Inquisition symbol, with the extra bit on the top of the edging.

I got my Sternguards all put together and the Vanguard are going to be finished once I get home tonight. Pictures to follow later.
