My local gaming group is starting up a Journeyman league, so I thought I would document my armies progression.
For those that don't know the Journeyman League:
Week 1 - Battlebox/Warpack
Week 2 - add to make 15 pts
Week 3 - add to make 25 pts
Week 4 - add to make 25 pts (may change caster)
Week 5 - add to make 35 pts (may use either caster)
Week 6 - 35 points with no restrictions
There is an emphasis on not only playing but on painting too (finally getting off my butt and getting my Skorne painted)
So to start this off, my Battlegroup (Week 1)
Master Tormentor Morghoul, Cyclops Savages (X2), and Titan Gladiator
Some week 2 additions (more to come)
Basilisk Krea and Aptimus Marketh (that I hope to proxy for an Extoller Soulward, opponent allowing, as I don't have the ES model)
4 Paingiver Beast Handlers and Agonizer
Here is some of last week's handywork: Praetorian Swordsmen
And here is a hold over from last week: Basilisk Drake. Plus a second Agonizer
And for this Fri.(week 3):Bronzeback Titan
Molik Karn
Hopefully more to come soon....
OK, updates:
From week 3, Cyclops Brute and Tyrant Xerxis
Week 4, Cataphract Arcuarii
Second Titan Gladiator & third Cyclops Savage
Three Ancestral Guardians and Kovaas
And Kovaas by himself.
And Skorne Army(93 pts + 2 casters) to date:

@ IK, I got that look by blocking out all the armor in gold (burnished gold I believe) then doing about 3 washes of red ink (Baal red if I remember right). I just kept layering the ink until I got the shade that I wanted. I do the same with green over silver on my son's Circle to get an emerald green look on the armor.
Not sure yet what I will be adding to make 15pts
The paint table has basilisks (both drake and krea), praetorian swordsmen, and beast handlers in production for possible adds. Any suggestions are welcome as I am fairly new to Skorne (normally play Cryx, but thought I would give Hordes a go).
For 25 & 35 pts I am holding off to see what I am needing to round out after some games(although I think a bronzeback will go in for the 25 and Karn in there somewhere too).
Not sure on my second caster either, I have pMakeda (leaning towards her), Hexeris, Xerxis, and Zaal. Again any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks for all the comments. Automatically Appended Next Post: Ah hell, I just noticed I put this in the wrong forum, can one of the mods move this to paint and model blogs?

I would suggest beast handlers as the next paint job. They are really needed in fury management and will be in every list you make. Pretorian swordsmen are basic 4/ 6 infantry which is also a staple Skorne unit, but and both Makeda1 and Hexeris will enjoy their company on lists.
I have been playing Makeda1 as my skorne caster for couple of games now and she is straight forward type of caster to play. She just hangs around the mid line of the army casting the same 2 or 3 spells every turn. Hexeris, Morghoul and Zaal have more options available to them. All of the second line casters you listed need a lot more infantry to run well, so after painting basilisks should paint some units next.

Currently I have a Krea and Aptimus Marketh (gonna try proxying him for a Extoller Soulward, opponent allowing) done, Agonizer, Drake, min Beasthandlers, & min Praetorian Swords all on the paint table in various stages of completion (I'll get pics up of the finished stuff soon). I am now leaning toward BH and ES at least for the first dust up on Fri. but have the others listed on hand to try out as well. I'm thinking of either Karn or Bronzeback (gonna try to get both painted up) for the jump to 25. After playing Cryx this is a big change, not much for 1 & 2 point models, slower spd stats, and only 10" control. Trying to adjust to a 'lock that is very 'in your face' rather than my usual stand back and let the jacks/nodes get in there.

I agree that the skorne play a bit differently to cryx, my other faction is cygnar and the difference to them too is great. I like the melee oriented way skorne are built, but I am still trying to add more ranged elements to the lists as heritage from my days with the swan.
Marketh is money with Makeda, Hexy and Zaal. All of them have spells that he can cast and the possibility to upkeep with souls is great. I would add BB to the list at the 25 points, he has nice synergy with Gladiator and is a great beatstick in addition.

I will just keep editing the original post as I add pictures that way the pics are all in the same place rather than scattered though the thread.

Well I managed to knock out my min unit of Praetorian Swordsmen for tonight but the Basilisk Drake didn't make the deadline(still sticking with my no unpainted figs on the table goal). I will get him finished up next week along with a Bronzeback & Molik Karn. I'll get pics of the PS up as soon as I get a chance.
Still can't decide on my second caster either, I have:
Dominar Rakesh
pMakeda
Xerxis
pHexeris
Aptimus Zaal
Any thoughts? Opinions?

You don't have enough infantry to feed Zaal's feat, so he is out. You don't have cyclops brute painted, so I wouldn't run Rasheth, he really likes shield guard along with Krea. Hexeris would play from the back slinging spells, Xerxis would play in the front distributing hurt and Makeda1 in the middle lines. Each of these would be different to the Morghoul you playing and you have decent figs to run with them. I would get the BB on the table as soon as possible as he will make you opponents life interesting.

Well here's last Fri's report.
I didn't get the Basilisk Drake finished and ended up not fielding the Basilisk Krea (just too much fury for Morgy to deal with).
First (of 3 games) vs Circle (Baldur, stones with keeper, pureblood, stalker). I ran my battle box plus min Beast handlers and an Extoller Soulward. BH were a godsend, really helped me get the max out of all my beasts. The ES turned out to be more of a distraction than very effective (I really wanted him to connect with on of the Wolves to see what damage he could get out of his ranged attack, but no luck). Ended up winning with a caster kill on Baldur when he couldn't transfer thanks to my feat.
Second vs Retrib (Caster with birdeye can't remember the name, phoenix, another heavy jack, mage hunter assassin, mechanic of some sort). I ran battlebox plus BH (again) and an Agonizer. Again BH were great. The Agonizer caused no end of grief to my opponent, I dumped a bunch of fury on it first turn and kept up its denial aura (can't allocate focus to jacks). After his initial charge with the jacks they stayed shut down on focus for the rest of the game. Ended up losing by assasination do to some mistakes on my part and good play on my opponents part.
Third vs Menoth (Kreoss, Castigators x2, choir). Again, battlebox but I dropped the BH (I know bad move) to add a min unit of Praetorian Swordsmen (I got them painted, I am damn well gonna use them). The PS held their own in my opinion, 5 attacked the 2 Castigators and inflicted 10 wounds between them and caused him to combust to take them out, also taking out 2 of his choir. The last swordsman stabbed Kreoss in the face twice (2 damage) before Kreoss slapped him down. Titan, cyclops and Morgy destroyed both castigators in 2 turns while the other cyclops ruined his choir. Then I chased down Kreoss for the win.
All in all I am happy with all the models that I got painted and fielded, still looking forward to getting the Krea and Drake on field.
Bronzeback is almost finished then on to Karn and Cyclops Brute.
32 points painted out of 128 points of Skorne.
Will get more pics up as soon as I can.

Thank you both.
Up to 60 out of 128 points of Skorne painted. I hope to have pictures of Molik Karn up tonight, just finished today. Currently on the table in various states of progress: 3rd (and last) cyclops savage, cyclops brute, 2 beast handlers to make a max unit, 4 praetorian swords to make max unit, Xerxis, and Hexeris (probably going with one of these 2 for my second caster).
Got Karn added to the first post.

Week three games:
First was vs circle. I ran my BG plus beast handlers, agonizer, & Bronzeback. BB was an absolute brute, and squashed Balder. I still have some learning to do with him. He was very effective, definitely running him anytime I can.
Second vs Menoth. I dropped agonizer and BB, added Molik Karn. What a beast! On my first turn (I went second) loaded him up (rush, abuse, enrage) and launched him. He hit a daughter of flame, sidestepped, another DoF, sidestep, and smack Thyra, leaving her with one box....then Morghoul died...
Third vs Skorne(eMakeda): back to first setup. It went back and forth, in the end I lost but learned some good lessons.
For next week: Cataphract Arcuarii, Xerxis, and some misc. Figs that I just felt like painting. Pics coming soon.

Bronzeback is really great, especially when you are running other titans with him. But he definitely takes some games to get to appreciate the full value and to understand the possibilities with counter charge, animus, chain attack etc.

Thanks Metsuri, I really appreciate your comments and encouragement. Two weeks left, for #5 I am working on another 4 praetorian swords to make a max unit & 4 cataphract centratii to give Xerxis a little more manpower to work with. I only got in one game with him last week and had a beast heavy list, not a good list for him. He did manage to kill 2 heavy war beasts though...
