Planet Earth

It all started with a box of space wolves.

Some snow bases were made, then the models were assembled and assigned their bases

Space Wolf sez:

Come 'n git me!

And now that the test model is done for color scheme I can go on and paint all of them

And this time around I wrote down what colors were used

I would instead suggest more shading, especially on the shoulder pads, because with these bright colours highlights will not help adding depth, but shading will.

"We train young men to drop fire on people, but their commanders won't allow them to write "feth" on their airplanes because it's obscene!" (Colonel Kurtz in Apocalypse Now)

And you know what's funny? "feth" is actually censored on a forum about a dystopia where the nice guys are the ones who kill only millions of innocents, not billions.

I will definitely work on some more shading. I also need to work on the basecoat paint itself since its a bit too thick to my liking. Guess I should dish out for some proper miniature-ready paint than using generic crafts acrylics

These look great so far, have you got any more units planned?

They look much better for the shading. If you are having trouble with the paint being to thick, water it down. It is said to water it down to the consistency of milk. This flows of the brush easily, but you need to do a vouple of coats, but you are less likly to loose details I was skeptical to begin with but i ahve found it much better and more rewarding as the end product looks better.

Quite a few. I need around 15 more grey hunters, two more wolf guard in power armor, 10 long fangs, 5 wolf guard terminators, and then one land raider, three rhinos, two razorbacks and two speeders

Thanks for the tip. I will make sure to add it to the arsenal (these basecoats were done in about 5 layers due to paint being watered down for instance, and even the iyanden darksun on the weapons was watered down and required 3 coats)

I agree with M0rdain. Thinning down the paint and doing multiple coats will increase the look of your models ten-fold.
