Hey guys, Just recently started to build up my dwarf army I purchased for my birthday (From Mantic Games) and I can see that the models are quite junky (big) and there bases dont line up base to base. There's a little gap in between each model (25 guys, 5 deep per units) and since this is so, will people mind if my movement trays are a bit bigger then normal? In a casual and competitive state
Cheers

Oh Look another Kiwi!
Anyways, It Cost me about $186NZD for a BSB, Thane, Runelord/Master Engineer, Dragon Slayer/Daemon slayer, 50 Warriors, 30 Thunderers/Quarrelers, 15 hammerers, 2 Organ gun/cannons, 5 paints, clippers, glue and paintbrush, with mantic carrying bag! The Service was fantastic, models look great, and paint, brush, and clippers are fantastic, the glue wasn't to great, bit thick and would not come out of tube without a struggle so I stuck with my normal bottle of liquid cement. The Bag was just a bonus It took three days to get from the UK to Carterton
P.S. are you part of any wargaming clubs in the wellington region?

That's awesome. I'm definitely ordering their undead boxed army and a few extra skeleton boxes, in that case.
And no, I'm not a member of any clubs but I am looking to join one.

Good stuff mate.
Well There is the Wellington Warlords, stationed around Calberniy (Spelled wrong I think) its past the airport. Mainly GW games resonable size 20-30+members
There is also the Hutt Valley Wargaming club, I'm a member of that. Not alot of GW games happening there, just me and my twin brother playing 40k (I'm just getting into Fantasy with my 2000pt dwarf army) Mainly Ancients, Flames or war, and Warmachine/Hordes with some Napoleonics. good size with 30+ members
Im also part of the Masterton Marauders. Mainly GW games with some flames of war and a little bit of Ancients(not very big but good club, some days there can be 3 or 12 there) 12+ members
Did you manage to see or go to Call to Arms? It was held at St Pats College. I was there along with my brother and step dad who was in the Ancients tournament

Nah, I havent been to a tourney in years. So the warlords are in kilbirnie huh? I'll have to give them a look as thats quite close to me. I mainly play gw games anyway, although I'm starting to get into malifaux. What part of the valley is the hutt club in?

Yea, I was going to suggest the Wellington Warlords for you.
The Hutt Valley Wargaming club is in Trentham Upper Hutt, we are stationed in St Brendans School. Im sure if you google both clubs "Wellington Warlords" and "Hutt Valley Wargaming club" they should tell you their addresses, it would be really cool if you could pop into the Hutt Club and check things out. you'll easily spot me, the 17 year old with mostly unpainted 40k and fantasy figuers, along with my twin brother, and we're Canadian!
The next to meetings at the Hutt Club are the 8th of October and the 22nd, Ill be there on the 22nd and not the 8th due to my step dad (plays ancients) being buzy, he's my ride :(
Times are 10:00am to about 5:00pm
O apologise mate, the Wellington Warlords are bases in Khandallah, thats my bad. Is that still reasonably close to where you live?
There next meeting is on the 1st of October
Just take a look on there website and you'll get all the info you need

Khandala isnt as close but it's still within reason. I might try to make it out the hutt on the 22nd, if I do i'll bring some 40k. What armies do you and your brother play?

Casual play should be no biggie. If they are strict on the rules in a tourny then only offical GW minis are allowed. Check with the TO.

Sounds good. Nothing concrete on weather or not I'll be able to make it though, but I'll keep the 22nd free. I've got no problems with unpainted models, most of mine are either not or half painted. Lol, the only fully painted army I have at that size is the necrons I never play. (fingers crossed for a new codex soon)
I could bring either tyranids, DIY vanilla marines, orks or chaos marines at that points limit plus a smaller force of tau, LatD (count as orks) or eldar if for a quick combat patrol or something.
