Attempting to put together a Slaanesh orientated chaos space marine army.

I'm new to the game and I haven't shaped the army into what I need personally, I'm looking for experienced advice... Though I'm abit nervous about posting here for some reason. Don't bite my head off if I do something wrong! I'm a novice! :]

So far I have 21 Chaos Space Marines, (2 of them aspiring champions) Some of them equipped with Chain swords and pistols, a couple others have bolters, but the rest are currently armless awaiting their loadout.
10 Daemonettes (as lesser daemons),
1 Chaos Terminator Lord - Rcently disassembled (Can - and probably will - double as a sorcerer)
1 Daemon Prince - Unassembled (Though I plan on acquiring a second soon. Wether I buy a stock one or convert some models into one, I'm unsure)

I'm going with an emperor's children/Slaanesh theme, so I will probably by the bits pack for noise marines soon. But before I do, I'm looking for your opinion.

With what I have & some additional units, can you help me come up with a 500pt and a 1000pt army, advising what weapons and chaos models i should invest in.

Well, if you plan on having 2 Daemon Princes, why not use a Lash of Submission army. This consists of 2 Daemon Princes with Mark of Slaanesh and Lash of Submission backed up by powerful shooting pieces. The general plan is to use Lash to either move your enemies units into more densly packed groups or pull them out of cover before smashing them with pie plates. Luckily, many of the ordanance things that I'm talking about can be used for any of the 4 Chaos Gods (Obliterators, Vindicators, Defilers), all you'd need to do is paint them Slaaneshi. Hope this helps! (Note: this is more for about 1500 - 2000 points that I'm talking here, although feel free to try to cram it into 1000 if you really want to )

Thanks Rampage. Eventually, I'll work towards 1500-2000 army but it'll take some steady time to collect them.
I was thinking about using the Lash as i've read about it quite a few times in different places.
Should I think about using high powered longer ranged stuff on my marines and then grabbing some Obliterators etc?

It's all up in the air at the moment :3

Something else, I bought the Chaos Terminator Lord box forever ago, I need to strip it and repaint it.. (as i just played around with it for giggles ages ago) anyway, Would it be worth bringing this in as a Sorcerer? What's do you guys suggest?

If you're trying to use Lash at about 1000 points, I think you'll probably need that sorcerer if you want to do it dual. So you'll have 1 DP, and then the Chaos sorcerer in whatever loadout you need to give him lash.

If you can give regular Marines blast weapons then that sounds good, but I thought that Vindicators were relatively cheap in points (125 IIRC, I'm not actually a Chaos player, but I've played against them so much I have half of their codex drilled into my brain).

not only are Two Daemon Lash Princes effective, they are also fun to play, and can be fluffy to fit your theme.
Personally i like to run one Lash DP, and one with warptime and mark of nurgle.

You're off to a good start with the Princes.

Next on your list should be a few rhinos. You will get a much better performance from your troops.

For the Noise Marine route be sure to model your Champions with a Doom Siren and Power weapon.
I would advise against the using Blastmasters.
Gear out 1/2 - 2/3 of the squads with Sonic Blasters. Buying the weapon bits alone from a bit site would be best.

Obliterators excel for ranged support. I recommend having at least three in your Chaos collection.

I was thinking of playing around with the idea of a Lash Sorcerer and a Lash Prince. Firstly, I havent got a second DP yet but i do have a Terminator Sorcerer/Lord it awating assembly. But, the otherside of the coin is, Daemon princes are cool!

I was thinking of getting Rhinos soon to but I think Oblits are the next thing on my shopping list along with that second Daemon prince.

Would it be worth Kitting out a squad of noise marines and then a squad of regular CSM? Or do you think i should go all in with the noisey sonic blasting? :]

Edit: I bought, a while ago, that terminator lord box with the sorcerer options in it. However, I've not really heard anything about a Terminator sorcerer. Should I run him as a regular Sorcerer or what? I dunno how that works.

You can run a sorc in terminator armour or... you could get a second daemon prince, give the terminator lord dual lightning claws and run him in a close combat squad of termies with mark of slaanesh

Yeah, I'm torn between sorcerer and lord.... might just magnetize him or buy another.

So, I've managed to put together a Sorcerer & A terminator lord +2 lightning claws.

Took me a while as I found an old chaos termie I had laying around that was glued together pretty well, It took me some time to seperate him and the chaos lord's front doesnt fit perfectly well, I'll need to do abit of pastic carving and some gap filling with green stuff I think. Should look fine once it's done, I'd rather it look somewhat deformed anyway as it grants me opportunites to make it look possessed and demonic. I'm gonna throw in some Slaanesh Daemonette claws or limbs sticking out of the torso at some stage, It'll take some thinking on though. I don't wanna make it look too busy.

My next task is, I need some green stuff to finish off the lash on my sorcerer.

(I'm using part of the staff that comes with this kit, along side the staff that comes with the Daemonette kit, and some green stuff.)

Any idea what I can use for the Lash? I could probably make one out of melted plastic, Slaanesh Daemonette claws and green stuff but I was wondering if you had any better ideas. Thanks.

I run one at it works quite well.

3 x 5 Noise marines w blastmaster and sonic blasters in Rhino with Havoc Launcher.

2 x 10 Noise marines w Aspiring Champion with Doom Siren.
(no noise weapons)

2 x Obliterators

2 x Lash princes

Termies to fill out the list.

The 10 man noise marines I put in rhinos or land raiders as fits. With I5 these actually do quite well in HTH.

Will try to get the pernicious pink power army pictures.

Generally I set them up with BP and CCW and then sling a bolter or special weapon on them.

I have some very well painted armies and I don't have any pictures of them. I will try to get them out there.

Would like to see them when you can. I am still waiting on that Daemon prince being delivered.

Still not got my Daemon Prince delivered. Ordered it from totalwargamer.co.uk almost 3 weeks ago. They reported a lack of delivery to them from GW so they've ordered it directly from GW to my house and advised me 2 days, 3 days ago. Still don't have it. Very disappointed. :(

On my army front, my step brother is helping me come up with army lists for 500, 1,000 & 1,500 just as a rough idea to work towards, so I'll be posting them here soon
Won't play anything without that prince though.

Okay, so I got my Daemon Prince. Got terminators. Terminator lord...

Played a game against my step brother's Dark Angel army and I won! Somehow!

First and only game. Was about 1400 points-ish.

Granted, he was teaching me quite abit, but whatever. I won! Just thought i'd post!

Forget the terminator armor on your hq. Wings makes the hq jump troop but allows them to ride in transports.

Princes are great. The suggested layouts above are good.

Next, ignore noise marines. They are too expensive for what they do. Regular CSM are a better deal. Fill havoc launcher rhinos with CSM's with an icon of slaanesh, Melta guns, and a power weapon. Fluffy and effective.

If I had to choose between oblits, defilers and vindies, I would rank them in that order. Ignore vindicators because they are really easy to silence. But if you have your heart set on them, don't forget the demonic possession.

Cheers deuce i'll take it on board. I played a game today and i proxied 10 regular CSM as Noise Marines and they were fairly effective but i'll play another game with them as CSM and see. Worth trying everything I guess.
