Hey all, I've been staying away from buying the chaos dreadnaughts and have been converting them (more expensive!).
This is my 2nd chaos dreadnaught and lastnight at 12 I decided he needed a mouth!
I finished the gun but the extended CCW is still going to be greenstuffed more, I needed to wait for the arm to become solid. I used sprue pieces to lengthen it out ( i felt it was too small) and greenstuffed around it.. used a armor plate from a demon prince part I had then wrapped the chain in around it.
Surprisingly neat and easy way to add some nurgle "noise" before you start sculpting is to make sure the surface is wet ( yeah I licked it =\ ) and then bunch up some small sized chain and push it into the greenstuff a few times until you get a noisy, almost mossy growth look. I did this in a few areas as a base and then sculpted more overtop of it. Also used a few hardened pieces of starfish shell to give a bumpy organic look in some areas.
Worst part about all of this is you just keep getting better and want to tear apart your old stuff =(
