I have gathered a random assortment of junk from my house and have collected it on my modeling table. the only problem is, I have no idea what to make.

11 scouring pads.

A friend of mine made quite good swamps using scouring pads and movement trays with a little water effect.

With that in mind i'd do a fort/city in a swamp. I'd keep it modular to keep your options open.
